After having spent a lot of energy and time to bring these wheels back to their former glory, I have now decided to sell them as I opted for another set of glorious wheels for my 55 oval window.
There are 5 wheels, all are 6 inches wide, the outer part of the wheel is a strange mix between magnesium and aluminium, and it is riveted (3x) or welded (2x) on a steel core. All 5 were professionally polished (only the ring), the "dish" was left in original untreated condition. The lug holes were professionally drilled out, in order to fit new nuts and rings (found after a long "study" at a local US car shop). The "spare wheel" , the fifth(well, it doesn't fit, into the tray, but that's not so important...) was also polished but NOT drilled out. One of the 5 wheels (currently mounted on the car) isn't straight, you can either try to fix it or use the wheel number five (after completing the lug-repair). There are also original ET "Special" caps fitted on the wheels.
Don't ask me about the depth of the wheel dishes. Just take a look at the pictures of my oval window, and notice that the rear axle is stock, and the car is fitted with a narrowed front beam (-2,8cm each side, CSP). They fit very well to DKP I-styled beetles, Buggys, in my opinion not for narrowed-beam-lovers!
The price is 1200 Euros, for further questions or pictures don't hesitate to contact me through MP. I can deliver the wheels to SCC or DDD.

Not this one, as I'll be travelling for 2 weeks and it's not intended as a holiday car. But I will take this one (left side, picture taken at Bugrun 2005)

It has slept somewhere in a barn in Östersund from 1964 until 2005, when I picked it up by trailer. Currently under partial restoration (patina-preserving!), it will be my more or less daily driver in summer, but with stock upgraded mechanics ("stronger engine": 34 HP..., nothing with IDA, IDF, or so on, and full synchro gearbox). I will post some pictures when it's ready to leave for SCC

and some others. The 4 tires are not included. the wheel without tire is the spare wheel. It's polished, but the lug holes haven't been drilled out like the other four.

because all over the years they had got something between round and squared, and it wouldn't have been prudent to install them on a souped up bug in this condition. So I found out matching nuts and rings, and the shape of the holes was drilled out to be round again (it wasn't even a millimeter material which had to be "sacrified")

That's my splitbug's twin brother...  The paintwork is just as flaky...  Grin (sadly not metalflaky...  you could call it metaloxideflaky maybe...or just plain rotten...)
Anyway... It's currently also undergoing a patina preserving restoration Smiley
