Choice of parachutes - what to use?

Hello guy's,

I'm overseas from the UK atm but I'm building my street/strip car to a full on track gasser. I'm looking at fitting wheelie bars along with a chute to help for braking at the end of the track but to also help me if the car gets a little out of shape.

I know stroud do one just for vw beetles, but wanted to see if anyone is using the 'deist 27252 drag chute'?

It's a little cheaper than the stroud but I'm liking it as it has a spring pilot chute. I know some use a spring launcher or air launcher but I'd rather not mount all that and just have the chute mount at 45 deg just beaching the spoiler to allow it to catch the wind.

Any advice on chute makes and models would be great thank you.

i use the one from stroud.
And its adjusted to my car weight and topspeed.
I got it form Jim Smith at cotsweld. maybe you should give him a call...

I use the Stroud one for VW, works really well.

How about the Simpson skyjacker 10' ones they come with a pilot chute and spring and are good for up to 200mph and 3000lb car.
Jegs/summit do them.

Thanks guys, after an email from a few people I'm going to go with stroud as the diest has a hard impact when deployed.

I've contacted stroud and I'll look to get one ordered soon.

Good choice on the Stroud it stops the fastest air cooled in Europe
