good few passes racing lady marmelade at dragstalgia was real close racing until i couldn't get 3rd gear on last of the 3 runs we had so lady marmelade took the win but i came home with a pb of 9.92@137mph so was a cracking event [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

That's a bummer Danny. Pretty consistent in the 9.9's now tho. Where do you see it ultimately topping out performance-wise? 9.50's? 8's?

went to the nat finals this weekend ,i torched a he'd on the first pass testing out the new box .so I'm don't for the year. its been a good year getting used to the car and running some decent numbers even if the moons never lined up for a perfect pass . time to remove the bug motor and get onto fitting the turbo motor for next year ....

Dannyboy, that is a great picture. Something to aspire to!
Are you running 3" shorter axles on the notch? What wheel width and back spacing did you go with?
I'm build a pan based notch, 3" torsion raise, 1" trans, 3"/side torsion narrow. I finished all the metal work this weekend and I need to get some wheels under it.

It is 5 inch narrow. Well mine is anyway. But I’m swing axle ladder bar. 8 inch rims with 3.5 inch back space.

the rear end has 300mm axles the wheels are 8 inch wide with 4 inch backspace :-)

Danny, your 5"/side? Is that how RLR builds all his chassis?
Stussyrich - thanks for the feedback.
I went home today at lunch to take a quick measurement of my Split which has a 3"/side torsion narrow. I've got 8.5" MTs on 7" bogarts with a 2.5" back spacing and about 1-3/4" clearance to the adjustable spring plate (obviously things you chassis car guys don't have to worry about!). I haven't mocked up a rear fender yet on my notchback to get an idea of where the wheel will sit in relationship to the fender lip, but I will tonight. I have Weld spindle mounts up front (magnums just like DannyBoy, but in black) and I wanted to match them with Weld rears. They have 15x8 in 3", 4" and 5" backspacing. I used an online wheel/tire calculator and the 3" back spacing puts me about .5" closer to the spring plate, but would still allow for clearance.
The 3" back spacing reduces my rear track width by 1" compared to my split window. Do you guys have any thoughts on reducing the rear track width? If you run narrowed 5"/side, with 3.5" backspacing, that pulls the wheel in 2.5" per side compared to where I'm at, total track width narrowed by 5". Your both really fast, so I assume I shouldn't be concerned with the 1"?
You both have badass cars, along with "Ragtop" aka Notchback Racing, and all have given me ideas for my build. My car is following the NHRA SS/VX rules, so "pan based", pie cut pan head, aluminum beam, 3x3 torsion housing, etc.
Thank you guys for the responses, Its nice to see a little life left in the lounge.
EDITED to correct the measurement between the MT 8.5 slick on 7" wheel with 2.5" back spacing.
