Okay, now that everybody's stained their favorite blue dress over Gab's, Geno's, and Galassi's car... This car resurfaced Spring '10 on Craigslist for I think $1,800. My pal Rob Mellinger bought it. It's still intact but a bit worse for wear. He's a historian so it'll go back the way he remembered it when he lusted for it. And yes, it's still in the pacific northwet (Tacoma now). As for picture windows, no square was cool in the '80s unless it had 'em. in the 80 there's a lot of big square side windows(one piece window) why? and some square back were top chopped those were cool nice look [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Just talked to Mc New on the phone. Hope that helps.

That is a nice type3! They seem even slicker than type1's when they are eighties-cal-looked... I would love to own one of those...

thx Peter. Have done 100s of jobs on the car but it still is not making as much progress with the UK weather not playing ball. Have the running gear nearly ready and wheels / tyres ready to go on. will update with some recent pics. Like the stance on your notch - v nice...

'80s Type 3 rides? Damn, this place just gets better and better! My '73 Square I had in the early/mid 80s was Honey Brown, gold 5-slot mags with a matching gold "Z" 80s-swishy-thingy down each side, polished teak rails on the roof between chrome rails, too-loud 2" hotdog. From memory that thing was damn cool back then. I lost count of the tickets that car earned me! Hahaha! Wish I had photos. Best of luck with your Square mate, looking good.

In my mind, the most 80's-lookin' Type 3, besides the "Suicidal Tendencies" Square, is this hot pink targa-roof Fasty that I thought was pretty ugly, but it did garnish a lot of attention in its day...

Just wanted to mention this (or that look) red notchback... If I remember corectly, it was featured in Colin Burnham's book about custom VW's in the '80, correct ?
