No these are 8Jx15 at the rear and 4.5 at the front. All original.
At the moment I look for deep6 fuchs, these are for 2011 with new tires. I hope than to run in the 12 sec.

It doesn't matter, I am very happy with my typ4 engine.
Nice that you can drive at DDD8. I hope for you that you can beat my time of 13.09 sec. with street tires.

Good luck and cu later.

Beautiful engine!

I don't care what anyone thinks about Type 4, Vanagon, or any other engines... long as it fits under the Type 1 decklid and it's Volkswagen or Porsche, it's GAME ON, I say.

And to keep the theme of this thread:

My childhood friend and photography mentor, Ray Zimmerman, shot my '66 in El Dorado Park back in 1982. My girlfriend and I rode our bikes to this place, the other day, on Labor Day.

Thanks, Stretch. Sadly... no, I built it in 1979 & sold it in 1985.

Mark

Did your orange bug appear in Volksworld magazine many moons ago Huh

Ron, when I owned it, it was on two VW Trends covers, one Hot VWs cover, in one Japanese magazine (Dyno Don still has a copy), one Small Car Speciaties car show promotional poster, and the Bug-In video that was made in Germany back in 1984-85. I sold it to some long haired surfer looking kid named Gary and he begged me for all of the coverage. I told him no and he was really bummed when he came back to see that the D.K.K. stickers were removed.

But I don't know if anyone else ever did anything with the car. It's been too many years to keep track. Can you see the license plate in the Volks World feature? If you can, and they're the original black ones... that'll tell the tale. SSV 169

It IS a shame and it MY fault. But if I ever do find it and the owner wants to sell it to me, I'll gladly refinance my house to get it back. It was also my first car... so it has even more worth, to me.

Interesting. Do you know which issue that was (month/year)? I'll have to ask Ivan or Fabian to kindly dig that up so I can verify if that was the car or not. Thank you, Ron.

It was an early issue pre 1990

I'll try and look it out at the week end

Thank you very much, Ron. It's appreciated. Last time I checked, a year ago, the plates were still in use. When I sold the car, it had both of it's original '66 black California plates.

That's a nice car Anders as I said in the SCC and I miss this engine, you should sell it back to me  Grin
Very good all around driveability with lots of torque but enough power to get nice time slips.

I will post some pictures of my '67 when it is ready...

Thanks for the positive feedback on my car.
As Jaska says the engine is very nice on the street and the strip. He used it with an electric fuel pump, when I bougt it I switched to the stock pump. I have always used stock pumps, but if swopping it takes me to the 11´s I must consider doing it  Smiley
