3sche, great looking car!

I've been MIA lately..... Mark your 67 is BadASS!!! Awesome choice on the finish.

I'm about ready to send a set to Mr. Reed.

Thanks, Tom. They're Ian's wheels... and he's the one that had 'em done like this. I'm very happy with the outcome.

Love your car, Tom... plus, it's my one of my favorite years. Any engine pics?

Enjoyed my car, this weekend. We had Indian Summer 80º weather to play in.

Our Indian summer was 51 degrees - Tee shirt weather!!

I'm not done detailing the motor yet - still have loose ends to button up, but I'm driving the shit out of it......

Naw, I could never afford those. I'm just grateful that I got to see what they look like on my car. Worry not... eventually, I'll get a set.

Tom, that's awesome! Did I miss the thread with your engine size and all of that? Looking forward to seeing the engine bay, when you're done with it.

Just read it on your other thread, Tom. Thanks for posting the link. The new engine sounds like fun! The same size that we're planning on using for Bob's '67.

I like the tires.  They ride great and the best part...no rubbing!

The Ghia is getting close to completion now, but I will have a few projects that will run into next year.

The motor is a 1915 with solex carbs and a mild cam.  I reverted back to a 010 Distributor from a 009.  I know there are more current applications that are probably better, but it’s period correct and I like the cool factor and the overall look.  My goal with the motor was to keep it simple, with the look of a Porsche 356 motor with the powder coated silver shroud and black tin.   The crank pulley is billet but in original style.  The linkage is from AJ Sims.  Cleaner looking than the original Kadron linkage and it sure works much better.  Exhaust is from Kymco, (ceramic coated with single muffler).  I like heaters so I also added new heater boxes.  I still need to install new heater channels that attach to the bellows, along with cables.  I’ve connected all the fresh air venting again too.  I might upgrade the motor next year, but this is still tbd.  Either way, I’ll keep the same look to it.

I also reverted back to the stock shifter and knob from a Hurst knockoff.  I might change to a Deano if ever I can find one.  I just added the original radio back to the dash.  The dash was filled in and I had to grind out the panel to re-insert the radio.  I like it better as it looked incomplete to me without it. Again the direction was original in look, but with some slight upgrades. (Scat front seats and ISP steering wheel….WCM Carpet Kit)  Rear speakers were something I liked from the 70’s.  They kinda mimic an accessory sold back then used on 911’s and some water cooled VW’s.

Still need to re-chrome the bumpers and clean up a ton of wiring issues, along with a few other minor projects that will carryover to 2011.

The car isn’t really Cal Look, but isn’t really a full restoration either.  More of a “Cal Restro”  What I’d call a original theme in appearance.
