Whoa. Nice pile of maple! You split all that yourself?

Oh yeah, nice car too.  Grin The color reminds me of the Grabber Blue on my old '66.

Hotrodsurplus, You got any pictures of your old '66?

Yes but the only ones I could find were Polaroid so the quality is poor. I believe that I posted these photos earlier in this thread so my apologies to everyone who's seen them before.

This was the first day I got the car on the road. The stance was all wrong in the rear. It was too low. I soon raised it and it taught me a lot about suspension dynamics--the car launched much harder.

2110 with Shaun McCarthy 40x35.5 heads, Engle 110 cam, 44 IDFs, and ~9:1. Made 122hp on the FAT Performance dyno (Ron ran the dyno for me that day). 4.12 gearbox with welded gears, double-snap-ring super diff, billet sideplate, and Berg plate stiffeners, intermediate mount, traction bar, and shifter. Ran the car a number of times at Terminal Island. It was 1/8 mile. I can't remember the ET but it calculated to low-mid 14s. Not bad for a 110 cam and 165 tires!

This was 1992. I shot the photos in the showroom of the To#¤ta dealership that my dad ran. I sold the car in 1995. I still have the Thing shroud, EMPI rosewood wheel, and license plates (black California and white Nevada). The shroud and wheel will go on the next car I'm building, a '62 sunroof.

Agreed, lovely wheels, very nicely done. Any close up pics of them? My genuine eights were fully polished (i believe by CJ Prew) and I'd like to give the centres a cast look with either blasting or paint effects or both!

Thanks chaps

Have just had another set blasted and going to lightly polish the rim with a scotch pad. Have tried treating them with this
http://www.roadsters.com/gibbs/ they don't like the uk winters

Here is a photo of when they arrived which shows what I believe to be the original finish.
http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,1349.4590.html

I'll post some later of them bead blasted and with the scotch pad polished finish

Regards Ron

There's a great video of Dick Mitchell's car on YouTube. Just seen those shots of the interior and put 2 + 2 together. Spent far too long watching those vids when I should've been working. - OC
