is this correct ?
Important message to everyone arriving by plane!!
We have a pickup service at Gardermoen Airport, just call/sms Kalle at +4741529695 and he will schedule your transportation to SCC!
If so thank you, is there a taxi service for the hotels as well ?
What do you need a taxi service for? You have not one, but two cars there!
We´ll figure something out Russel.

A taxi service... I am amazed by the SCC organizers' level of service. They must be swamped with things to do just to organize this huge event for the first time, and they even take care of stuff like that! Amazing service, guys!
PS A barrel (of sodd) is only 159 litres/42 gallons

Hi Nicolas!
For the Sodd:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodd
For the pickup: Call or SMS Kalle(Beetlebug), he´s a very nice man and in charge of the SCC Taxi service!
For the ferry: Several options I think, have a look:
http://www.directferries.co.uk/routes.htm
See you soon!
thank you i will look into that. not sure if i want to try SODD...
i'll pass the number to my wife and she will call him when she arrives.
as for the ferries i'll look into it.

NOW HEAR THIS:
We have received two free weekend passes from our great main sponsor AUTOGLYM for the FIA European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway the 4th - 7th of september. We thought about going ourselves, but the traction at such inferior tracks is of no interest to the SCC crew!
We will therefore arrange a raffle for these at SCC, do visit our stand at the event(where we sell dash plaques and t-shirts) and YOU may be the lucky SOB to win!
The winner will be announced at the award show on Sunday.
Thank you.

I have some practical questions.
Are Euros accepted?
Are there some shops not too far from the SCC site?

Euro bills should work in most stores, but coins will not. If you have a credit card that is by far the easiest way. There is a store in the nearby town of Jessheim, but none right next to the track... actually there isn't anything but pines right next to the track....
5 km's to the nearest store I guess. McD is closer...

That all sounds good to me, I can take a little 5km cruz to the shops in the Manx - at least there is a McD's so Dave R will be ok

I had to stock up on beer last year at SCC, it was only a short drive to some local shopping centre - like 10 minute drive. If I were you, I would go to any ATM and get some Norwegian kroner, I wouldn't be too sure they accept euros at any gas station or local random shop. You obviously got cash machines at the airport nearby. On Sunday, if you still got Norwegian currency left, spend it on SCC gear or buy one pack of sigs or a pint of beer, I promise you that will solve your problem...

I have a friend that has never drag raced before. Last winter, when it was announced that this year's SCC event would be all air cooled, he said he wanted to drag race - his first time ever. Only so his twin daughters and their future children (his grandchildren) would know that he raced at the biggest aircooled only SCC. And he wanted to race in his double cabin Bay.
He is in it for a good story to tell, but he has made some serious sacrifies to have the engine built. He took a second job to get that engine built.
Today I got to ride in his Bay with the brand new engine, and we had a blast (please excuse my ridiculous laughter, I was just high on hp...). He enters SCC just for fun, but he has a personal goal of qualifying for Ultimate Street Bays, under 18 seconds.
I filmed parts of the ride today and made a short teaser on Youtube for the Norwegian VW community. He didn't want me to publish the video here, because he thought the Loungers (some of you serious drag racers) wouldn't be very impressed by his efforts. I disagreed, so here is a glimpse of a onetimer you will see at SCC...
