I am still plugging away at my car, every night I am putting in 1-2hrs but it seems like everything is against me.
I have no idea when it was last on the road but it was only supposed to need a little bit of metal work - nearly a year later I am still welding and cutting!
If I pull it off and the oval will be there I will not win any awards for what it looks like and I will of had no seat time in it!
The problem I have had, apart from buying an incomplete car is that too much of my time has been taken up on my pillar drill after reading through the weight saving thread Grin

Leave the drill alone and finish the car then  Wink  As I said to Baz pretty doesn't matter, make it work then worry about pretty later

Its supposed to be covered up Wink

Pretty doesn't matter, be good to see it moving under power again Smiley

I must have got lucky and arrived while it was uncovered. Seriously impressive car and great to finally see it for real,  I had posters of that car on my bedroom wall 25 years ago so forgive me if I had to sneak a peek Smiley

Yep it's 2 years since I drove it and over a year since it last ran... I'll be too old drive it at this rate!

What are the chances of 2 cars in the same race not making the finish line in a quarter mile drag  Grin

Engine is done, tinwear on, carbs in a box under the bench. Gearbox not started yet, car not MOTd and still full of crap from years ago! Daily driver MOT costing too much this month so going to be cutting it fine...

Chances are pretty high that I will not make the finish line!
Fuel system to do, brakes to do, electrical system to do, all panels to be bolted on
Saving grace is that I dont need an mot😉

Arse! I forgot about fuel system! I've got all that to fit too! Brakes could probably do with being looked at too...

Good idea, I've never really liked the idea of the lowback seats with a 4 point hardness, but at the same time, I don't want to weld seat mounts into my bug, so today I made a compromise. I know its not perfect but its mine haha

Nice. I need to do something similar to mount my seats, having a hard time finding bases to cut up though.

I've been wiring the bug today, a job I was dreading but turns out it's not that difficult after all.

For the street car shootout I am thinking that instead of doing a actual race ladder sunday afternoon that we will take an average for everyones best 3 passes on sunday, this will allow anyone who needs to leave earlier to get a ferry or has long drive home to still have a chance of winning  Cool.
So requirements would be

Complete cruise Saturday evening[approx. 6.15pm leaving from outside front of track for this] and then do as many passes on sunday as you want but just hand in your tickets for your best 3 passes on sunday.

There will be 4 categories
Real street naturally aspirated
Real street with power adders[any]
Modified street naturally aspirated
Modified street power adders

I did think about a bus category but as there doesn't seem to have been any interest from bus owners guessing its not needed?

At this time please voice your thoughts or opinions, once I order the trophies its to late Wink Grin

Peach/Kaferboy maybe you can put this on your facebook page as well ?

cheers Richie
