Last year's event was the high light of the year for me, unfortunately I have not had the time to look at my bug this year so won't be able to take part . I do hope it continues in the future.

As I have a long ass drive I'm planning on heading down Friday and staying in a hotel Friday night so if anyone fancies a bite to eat/beer Friday eve in Wellingborough then give us a shout.

What's the arrangements for the Saturday - time to arrive and all that?

That's a shame Andy, was good to have you & car there last year, it will all be numbers dependant on this year if it is to continue, with Pod having some many things to fit in with Shakey closing they only want stuff that brings in cars & people

There are a few going Friday but don't know if they will be allowed in gate or not, as officially it wont be open. We will have designated pit area and Saturday is open rwyb, then meet at gate approx. 5.30m to do cruise about 28miles or so around local area and back to track again. I will be there Saturday AM to answer any questions etc
cheers Richie

Got a shock this morning when my YouTube alerts brought up Danny's mishap. Other than that, how did it go?

Thanks for the update Dave and Jo  Smiley

The red fiat reminded me of the best moment from Sunday. Red fiat and X1-9 were lined up together. Both left the line but there was some bogging/mis-shifting etc going on. As red overtook X1-9, the driver enthusiastically and visible from the stands, gave the hand movement for how shall I put this 'self pleasuring' across to his opponent.

I can't remember who crossed the line first, I was busy laughing

The 600 won

Danny in the X1-9 and I are friends. We were winding each other up in the fire up lane about who had the fastest fiat.  Danny ran a 9.89 and a 9.85 without him having technical issues on that pass I wouldn’t have stood a chance!

Agreed, it was really good to see this photo of the 600 back together after last year's "incident". Mk1 Kieran has put a video on YouTube of about four of Dave's runs. Looks strong and straight - no drama!

Thanks Neil/ Frank it was good to have the car back out again. That’s the first time I’ve driven it in over 2 years! It’s a road car now so I won’ Be chasing numbers with it anymore.

Hopefully there will be another one next year.  It needs more  people to commit so Santa pod take VWs seriously

Agreed. I was kicking myself for double double booking myself that weekend - supposed to be at Pod, in Cardiff and in Loughborough all at the same time! As it turned out I wouldn't have been able to race anyway - the car isn't 100% yet and still needs a lot more work to make it reliably quick but it's the niggly little bits that take the time to find.
