Lots of work, time, money Plenty of talented people involved. The guys at custom motor bodies who did the paint work and Fintan, zack,Paul who did accident repairs/metal work. I just paid some bills and bolted it back together

I liked it in yellow but I love it in red - think I've said that before! Hell of a transformation! How were the repairs done? If Fintan is FH Ellis then I guess that the front wing and rear quarter panel were beaten back into shape, but the roof looked to be the most daunting. Did you get a body cut from another car or did the guys make it from scratch? I'd like to see photos if you've got them Dave, partly because I want to see how the professionals would tackle that sort of repair and they'd also be really useful to show my students at school!

Thanks Neil, after all the work involved in repairing the car I decided to make it my own.
I don?t have many pictures of the repair work. The car was repaired using early NOS panels and and some parts from half a donor car I brought in Sicily, the roof was hammered out. The car was badly damaged in the crash and the B pillar was twisted from the impact. Luckily the Cotsweld roll cage kept the rest of the car ridged and the body sort of folded round it.

Took the car racing last weekend. The low compression 2276cc ran a 13.2@104 in full street trim and radials at the less than perfect Crail Raceway. I also had some fun on the road too! [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Such a cool car - and it looks so much better in red (sorry Jeff!). Had a ride in it out to Terminal Island one night - boy was it scary. In a good way.

Thanks, nothing but positive comments about the new colour so far. After the amount of repair work needed I decided I needed to make it my car. It?s a crazy car, I always used to enjoy chasing down the cars that got a better start than me with the turbo motor.

Finally getting to build my engine 7 years later than planned after replacing all the parts Jeff Denham never supplied me even though they were already paid for.

Not much progress recently. I stopped stealing parts from the fiat for my bug and refitted a dynamo
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]
I also converted my bug to IRS. Thanks to Pete for the tracking /camber gauges and Richie for the loan of the jigs
