SCC 2008 has switched dates to the weekend 15-17th of august, one week earlier than previously announced.
The reason for this is that the track at GIR has been double booked.
We are sorry for the change of plans, but we choose to view this as a positive matter: Greater chance for nice and warm weather with NO rain and the sun is up a bit longer.   Wink

See You there!

If you have booked the track only for beetles i would recommend to put no glue on it . If you do so you have the best tracktion for bugs and save money !! This rubber on that track is exelent for tracktion and save gearboxes  Smiley

We have booked the whole track area for beetles only this weekend!
We´ll have to see how the traction is from the weekend before and make a decision about it. Udo, you are the only one that has ever complained about too much traction!!!  Cheesy

Agreed, the track is designed to be glued,it is in the make up of the track surface,it is not like running a normal surface at all when un prepped

The LAST thing we want is unsafe track conditions!

We have of course track bite available and the track crew is the same that prep the track for the European Championships.

When we arrived last year i watched the track and it looked like Bitburg , even better . and Bitburg is the best track i think for beetles . You have a little slip but enough grip for 1,3  60 feet . This is why i thought about it . But if you think it needs glue it is ok .

I'm wanting to try to get back over to Norge for this and depending how the year goes timewise I may try and get the car there. It was a good show in its old format but I think this could be even better. Good luck with it.

I agree with Udo
With out glue it is perfekt for cars like ours
I have try it last year here in Denmark on Vandel Raceway with and with out glue

I think we will have a discusion with the proffesional track team at GIR and get them to prepare the track as they think is best for us.

Hope to see you again up there Elnef, and all of your VW friends too Smiley

You have a lot more rubber on the track than we have in Bitburg . So i think the rubber only is the best for us . I think the track crew konws what is to do .
