A few times I think, wakes the photographers every now and then too! I am not certain but I think that wheelie preceeded "a bit of a moment" which had Phil make use of both sides of the lane, twice. Awesome driving on his part. Pete Englezos once explained to me that the biggest problem is that until you land you don't know which way you're facing which is a fair observation but you have to consider that this is from a guy that never, ever gets off the throttle!

Not surprised – look at how the rear tyres have been unloaded as it's hit the stinger on the deck, coupled with the front wheels being turned 40 degrees!

Something I've seen a couple of times is a piece of light coloured tape wrapped around the top of the steering wheel so that straight ahead is marked - that way when the wheels come up you know where you're going when you come back down again!

I think the car got pretty crossed up before it landed, in that shot it's not pointed squarely up the track and is instead making towards the region occupied by the tree, I guess Phil probably looked out of his side window and on seeing the barn figured that he needed to turn right for the finish line. That's one of the issues of using the exhaust insted of sissy sticks. It's funny, normally at the track Phil is in bed by 7, on Saturday he was up past 8, I think 'Natural High' is an apt name for the car in more ways than one!

Actually for this racemeet it was the first time I had actually marked the steering wheel with a white line, also on the front window rubber. I had just put in a new steering box/tie rods/tie rod ends and spent a fair while on the tracking. Anyway traction had not been great, normally I only need 18psi to lift the wheels but I had wheelspin and got an 11.90 ( 4/100 off my best) with 17psi. So I got impatient and ran 15psi which I never run and the thing launched vertically and sideways. I was so worried that Greg would damage his car hitting mine if it went into his lane that I forgot about checking my white line on the steering wheel and my natural reaction was to steer left in the air! Not good.
Anyway I don't need wheelie bars, I just need to control the launch height with the correct rear tyre psi, it's a fairly accurate game, ideally the higher the pressure the better at the top end of the track, as long as it still gives me a decent 60foot (1.52 so far). 17 is about as low as I should go, this one was for the crowd! Cheers all Phil

Whatever way it cuts 2008 is a season I'm looking forward to. We can expand the calendar at the home track, Shakespeare County Raceway and maybe add a couple of dates at the Pod, couple that with a session at Chimay and Bitburg and you've got a busy year! I know from the unofficial feedback we got from Santa Pod that the crowd enjoyed the show, whenever the Outlaw cars were announced numbers in the stands swelled, I guess that's pretty cool.

Agreed, we were in the stands for most of the day on saturday, and it was noticeable whenever O/FF came out on track that people who were leaveing the stands turned round and sat down again and others stood up to get a better view. There were some people sat just behind us who didn't seem too impressed when the first of our cars came round but they changed their minds rather quickly when they saw what they could do!

I really like the Deano's top chop and All natural race car.
Do you have some pictures of the interior and engine? Does each car has a feature in a magazine?
I remember the engine of the Deanos top chop. I saw it at the Bug-In and it was stuffed with DDS deano Dynosoars parts.
If the owners are logged in the lounge, could they post some pics of their cars please? Many thanks ;-)
