Well the car came home this weekend! So I have a few photo's I'm still amazed at the work on the car and we're like kids in a sweet store when we work on it!! As it come off the trailer yesterday.. Today I managed to spend a full day on the car mocking things up and just generally checking it out!! This is back of the T handle on the decklid (which needs metal work I know!) The handle hasn't been cut down and also it gives a resting point on the valance so when the dzus fasteners are removed the decklid doesn't come flying off! I did forget to get a decent picture of the decklid fitted though! The dzus fittings for the decklid, it stands the decklid off nicely! Rear view of the valance, you can see the mounting points for the decklid and also the dzus fasteners for holding the valance on.. The dzus fasteners which act as support brackets for the rear valance. The set-up is really strong and there is no movement from the rear end. The rear valance is bolted to the wings on the side which then allows the whole rear end to come off like so, its really quick and easy to remove which is good. Instead of welding tabs onto the body Chris made this strip which is bolted the body along with the wing beading and then of course the wings are dzus fastened onto this! The main reason for this was to not have to mess about with the wing beading everytime the wings came off. Really pleased with how this came out. To the front and the fibreglass bonnet has also been dzus fastened on.. Front end all on.. Some of the things we mocked up today, we decided to mount the MSD and the Painless fuse block under the hood for ease of access. Looking like a car again! Yes the front end needs narrowing and lowering some more!! PowderPuff UK headquarters!! The body should be off for paint next weekend so I have this week to get the other bits mocked up and then while the body is away its time to finish the rolling chassis!

Thanks Matt I think it would be pretty cool to see both ours and your car in the flesh finished Well hopefully we'll be doing shakedown passes around easter thunderball time, we'll probably do some test sessions too so we can get used to the car in a relaxed environment as me especially, haven't gone as quick before as what potentially the car will go! Hopefully the car will be finished in time for Easter so we'll probably enter that though as we would be there anyway! The body goes off to the body shop on Sunday and there is still lots of mocking up to do

Well this week I have been really busy getting the rest of the things mocked up as the body is off to Martin Curbishly's tomorrow for paint! The bonnet has been drilled to accept the bonnet handle and all the trim and the rear wings have been drilled in the correct position for the tail lights. The doors have both now been 'lightened' and the inner frame cut for a 1 one piece window amongst other things! A few pics below.. The offending item which needed to be cut, thanks for the tip Ben And this is the end result, just a little bit of tidying up and its good to go! You can just make the holes in the door I have drilled to help lighten it. Once the door card is fitted the holes will not be seen! I was also able to trial fit the Aeromotive fuel pump and filter after finally ordering the proper billet mount for it! I was originally planning on running the pump under the tank on the bulkhead but there wasn't enough room! Plus this way there is easy access if there is a problem! Tomorrow Spencer will be round in the morning with the enclosed trailer and the body will be off for paint at last!

Nice work. What was the tip Ben gave you about cutting the doors? I'm gonna have to do that soon. Also what flow rate does that pump give? I'm looking at fuel pumps at the moment.

Hi Ant, Tip from Ben was to use a hacksaw to cut out those pieces! As for the fuel pump it has a flow rate of over 90 gph, on advise from Aeromotive is good enough for engines producing 200 to 600bhp. Our whole fuel system is Aeromotive, certainly not cheap but well worth it Adele
