I love this race car, it looks so right. The combination of a stock body to thinly disguise what is an awesome race chassis does it for me!! The colour is spot on too, reminds me of a white early sixties US race bug that was featured in Volksworld a long long time ago ,that had a monster IDA motor for the strip and a slightly detuned motor for the road, could it be Adam Wies or something like that??

I think the car you're referring to is the Hart one.

You say 'fixing' his own car. By this you mean pulling the carb off at least ten times at a race meet and completely fooking up the jetting just for the sakes of it. God only knows what would happen if Boom Boom went darkside and switched to EFI

Had a look, round the car whilst at Waynes on Friday. All I can say is WOW, truely stunning, an amazing amount of time and effort has been put in. It looks great, very subtle.
Did you manage to get it to Shakeys for some runs in the end?
Ps- your cars not gay, Wayne made me say it!! LOL

Well, its time for the car to go on a diet, and seeing as we cant remove any more metal from it, its up to me instead!! 7lbs(3.5kgs) down in 12 days and now only..... 33lbs to go! I said i would loose the equivelant weight of the cage being chromoly which is a difference of 40 lbs

Hey Lee! Go lexan!!! Yeah ours is fixed as I didn't want the weight of a quarter light or window winders! Stoo did us a template of his one piece window and we cut the lexan to that size and then just screwed in a couple of self tappers through the door and lexan. Works a treat! If you need lexan speak to Paul Woodhead and he'll sort you out with the coated lexan, much nicer than ordinary stuff! www.directplasticsonline.co.uk

Could you show me a couple of pics of where the window is screwed to the door? Also, would Paul be able to do a rear 'o'val' window in lexan? Lee

I just used 2 holes where the door cards fit, there secured in lots of other places so missing 2 wasn't a problem! I predrilled the holes in the lexan first through those holes then just got a couple of self tappers and a washer each and screwed them in! Paul supplied us just the lexan and we then cut it to size. Use a jigsaw with a wood blade, sounds crazy but it's the best blade to cut it with. The rear window on ours was a right ballache to fit but I think the oval should be alot easier. Is the window flat or is it curved? The 59 is curved horizontally and vertically hence making it a pain in the ass.

Cool, The glass oval screen was a right pain, so lexan may be easier Thanks Steve, Lee
