Well it was about time I started to put the orange ‘street beast’ back together.

So just checking over some tolerances!

Superb. It's been far too long since I've seen this car thrashed down the strip!

Hi Paul,

I’m so happy to see your updates here on The Lounge! Many many years ago you convinced me to go nitrous and once you have started with supercharging there is no turning back.

So will you use a nitrous controller again? Starting with a modest shot of the line and gradually increasing the amount of gas and fuel during the run?

Looking forward more updates!

Hello Kalle,

Glad you liked my way of thinking 😂 yes I’ll still be running the controller.

But I want to get a lot more street driving done, I’ve really missed driving about!!

All the best Paul

I hope it is OK that I share my nitrous dyno graph with you and the rest of the guys. 2332, CB Comp E by Jeff Denham, FK47 cam, 51 IDA’s.

[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

After this I started having issues with my clutch. I did not use any sealer between the wedgemated flywheel and the crank so tiny amount of oil leaked through. It was sounding really fresh on nitrous and my initial plan was to gradually increase the nitrous up to 150 - 200 hp. Today I would have used injection and let the ECU do all the needed adjustments.

After this I invite Richie with friends to our summer cottage and that was that... turbo ever after.

Calculated approx 75hp. I used a single jet system with a distribution fitting for both the fuel and the nitrous. Two crappy quality Holley pumps with a dedicated pump for the nitrous system including a in-line Hobbs switch.

If I was to build a new nitrous engine I would just use a dry shot and let the ECU add the needed fuel and remove timing.

Hello Kalle,

Must say I also use two Holley pumps which have been ok so far!

Which one from JPM did you end up with?

I’ve done some developments on the heads and sent the flow numbers to Johannes.
He has kindly done a one off grind to match the requirements 👍

Thanks Paul. Yeah not doing too bad mate. Quite difficult finding a good machinist and balancer that is trustworthy to do a good job. Glad you’re getting the car back out there

Yesterday took the car out on the street for its first outing after building the new 2332cc engine.

Brand new bottom end after a bugpack flanged crank failure. New Scat 84mm installed being a much better quality.

A little 80 mile round trip dropping off parts to Mr Phil of the West & Mr John Brewster of JB’s Elite fabrication.

She ran beautifully, video on Instagram flatfourperformance_vw

Hello Anthony, I hope you’re well mate.

Kind words thank you 👍

There’s a plate welded to the inside of the bodywork. Which has holes with 4 nuts welded to the inside.
Then you can slip the back end of and bolt together.

Makes it a dream to work on 👍
