Quote
the stance on this is spot on!
on the top pic, is the beam stock width?

and how did you 'age' the brms? or havn't washed them?

Thanks!

Top pic is stock width beam, rear at stock setting, but slightly higher due to some weight removal. Second pic is narrowed and even more lowered beam and rear one notch down.

After that I smartly went back to stock width beam at a more comfortable height and leveled out the rear end.

Like Jelle said: Daily use and road salt can "age" a cheap repro BRM pretty fast.

thanks!  Smiley

That is nice! Looks like small pre-64 windows, late model fenders and aprons and super beetle type mirror. What year is that car??

il share

as i own a brazilian issue beetle 1979

that pic, seems to be a brazilian 74-77 i think..

thats when they used the tailight much like a 68-72

my 79'  has the big tailights like th late supers

if im not mistaken , the 74-77s have 1300s and 1500s sp motors..  the later on's  like my 1979 has a 1300cc SP motor
all of them swing axles

i think only the u.s and euro ones got the 69 up  IRS bugs..  only irs ones local to me are supers

im in Asia lol so dunno how that relates to brazil.. but i have a brazilian issue one..

current project is concentrated on my 69'  though LOL

addtl. stuff

the brazilian issue's have a similar body like the older beetles,  small window , but with vents on the rear quarters

big bumpers , like super's but non shock absorber types..

I bought this 80s style 68 years ago for a winter beater (winter boots are on it). It came with a black spray-painted interior, Farfenugen sticker across the top of the windshield and a Beastie Boys style VW chain necklace in the glove box!

A blast from the past. Such a cool car. I remember reading a mag feature and it said something along the lines of it would struggle to corner like a beetle cup car but would kick its arse on the straights Smiley

Anyone have any shots of red lookers with polished/chrome Fuchs? I'm trying to decide if I want to go with Empi's Fuch-offs on my '67 or not, and the detailed ones just look goofy.
