Hey Guys,
Since I'm unable to find any 205/70ies Firestones I'm looking for an alternative set.
Which tyres do you use in the rear as alternative for the Firestones and do you have pictures of it? I'm looking for a 205/70 tyre with a not too modern look and not outrageously expensive...
Thank you very much!

a guy told me that that size of tyre is on chrysler voyager oldest model. (i didnt verified). some time ago i bought a couple of gooyear tyres that in my opinion were even better than f 560s. i dont remember name of that tyre but i can bet goodyear have only one model of 205 70 for cars. good luck.

Jordy, why do you need firestones? isn't it just the size that matters, cos you won't notice the make when you're rolling i mean i am getting myself some nankang modern 205/70s as soon as i finished my wheels

I was also thinking of the Nankangs, but they're so #$%^ ugly... On the other hand... for € 45,- per tyre they're awfully cheap...

I had the "Nankang" Taiwan Tires as wintertires on our daily driver (a Volvo)-and they were so bad that I had to remove them after one day. Incredibly "soft" sides that made the car´s handling similar to that of an old boat in rough sea . I wouldn´t buy that Taiwan crap brand any more...

Jordy,
I've been used a Bridestone tires before Firestone ( 1999 ) and it's really the same and the price is much the same as wel.
On my beige beetle which my wife is driving it, I use secondhand Roadstone tires and I bought it for € 50,- a pair For me is the same, drives OK and looks OK for me ...

I like the 215/65 just as much as the 205/70... but Ilike my car chunky... and that explains the 235/60's I sometimes run under stock fenders. :-)

Hi Jordy, I don't know if you're looking for a cheap 205/70 tire or a tire with the right looks that cost a little more? I know that a Dutch firm sells a lot of old-timer tires and they can even supply those very nice Michelins in all differnet sizes (from 135/15 till 205/70 r15 in the same profile). They also sell a lot of other brands like Firestone, Bridgestone,... but I don't know the prices. One thing I know: the Michelins 135 R 15 cost around 110 euro's a piece while the 205/70 R 15 cost something in the region of 290 euro's a piece. So if you need more info just contact me. i was just wondering, since it's rather hard to still find good affordable 205/70s, how would 205/65 fit? this guys has fitted them: pretty much same car as mine i mean they're 1 cm shorter and just about the same as 165s in height... any pics perhaps? p.s. i can't even find 145 firestones anymore

Every 2nd tyre for 50% of the original price. BF goodrich has a few nice looking 205/70 tyres...

I like the 215/65 myself I agree, as long as the tires are "round" and look right. In general 65 profile tires tend to look more square and have more modern pattern than 70 profiles. But there sure are some nice 215/65's out there!

I've got 205/65s on the back of mine. Some pics here: http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,15192.0.html although not any specifically of the tyres! I will be swapping for a 195/70 fairly soon. I think they're a light commercial tyre, for MPVs and the like, so I hope they'll grip ok when the 2007 motor goes in!
