Hi guys,
Would 6" Ercos (3,5" + 2,5") and 205 MH Dots fit on a 67 with stock length axles?

I don't think so. I am affraid that the edge of the rim would be outside the edge of the fender... Sarge?

You "might" get away with it using stock '67 drums, but I seriously don't think so with disc brakes or Type 3 drums.

Like deano said i think they will stick out,3.5 inch is alot It is 3.5 inch inset and 2 1/2 inch out.... Look at this picture, this is a short axle car with the same rims but with a little narrower tire - don`t you think there is room (and will look even better) with the wheel 1" further out? |

I think that red car looks just about right. Long axles will move the tire out about 1 1/8" on each side I believe.

Zach, that red car used to belong to Trond. Personally I think it is to much air between fender and tire but it could be that the angle is fooling me. |

It could be done in the car, but I wouldnt recommend it unless you're a glutton for punishment You need short axles and tubes with short end castings. Dont forget the proper bearing cap. When you take it apart you will see how its not all that difficult, its pretty much "out with the old, and in with the new". If the axles are used, make sure they go back on the same side they were previously used on- Ive heard that they take a "set". When you bolt the retainers back up to the trans, you have to make sure that the axle moves around with just a slight drag, not loosey goosey, not too tight. You adjust it by adding/removing gaskets. Its pretty simple really! |

There are short-short, long-short, and long-long axles. '67 are long-short. The second portion of that description is the length of the splines...
