ARPM 2-piece case, SCAT 86 mm Pro Drag flanged crank, Pauter V4EO cam, Pauter Rodzillas 6,200”, 90,5 Mahle pistons in steel thick wall sleeves, Racewear cylinder studs, Trimco billet heads, Pauter 1,4 Rockers, Hilborn fuel injection, Hampton 4-71 blower, Dual distributors (Trimco special), Oberg oilfilter.

Now replaced with the excellent Pauter Rodzilla rods.
The heads are billet.

Claes Trimco Ebbenäs (RIP in VW heaven) did them as most of the fantastic one off pieces on that engine.

There is a local guy that sand drags corvairs -- he is superchaged also and his cars are very fast -- He has this modification done to his engines and I've always wondered if high HP VW engines wouldn't benefit from this modification -- -- It seems that it would give a solid mounting point for very large studs both hold the halves together and holding the heads in place -- This modification would finally allow the use of Nitro in a VW engine.

there must be someone outthere whos still doin those MODs,,looks like its more of a bracket from the pics..to hold the blower,,just my 2 cents

The plates by Trimco were made to support the blower.
Any other benefit is just a bonus.

Steel plates like this on my T1 engine were made to stiffen the block and does so with great success. Quite common in nordics since 80´s
Now this is far off topic.
