Good times....what a cool store. Nice to see all the guys, and meet new friends. Nice day out for a drive too. Who's black Lancia was that out front when I left? Pretty car!

Stephan, write some more books so we can hang out in their store and lot more often.

Jim

man, I am hooked on that place! Next weekend the Alfa Club meets up there......COOL! Grin

That black Lancia was Mr. Leno's. I walked outside to get a better look at it. After talking to Sarge, I turned around and said hi to Jay as he walked out from the store. He got in his car and said goodbye to all of us.

Good seeing and meeting a few of you, today. Below is a quick rundown of what took place, for those that couldn't make it out.

What a great store this is! I'm going back there with my roommate, next week when I have more time to check everything out.

Note the book signing poster to the left of the entrance door. (coughDannycough) HAHA!!

A few cars showed up early in the day.

A closer look... didn't know who's car this was, but nicely done.

I really dug on this one.

This rolling VW accessory catalog was a trip.

Inside, Stephan set up shop and everyone had a good time hangin' out.

Came across THIS guy and haven't seen him since 1983. Which, by the way, made my day even better.
We had a blast catchin' up, talkin', and hangin' out.

Dyno, gettin' his book signed.

Outside, in the back of the shop, a few more cars scattered throughout the parking lot, made for another great place to hangout and talk. I finally had the honor of meeting this wonderful car and it's owner, Sarge.

Herr Scwhimmer's Käfer.

Jim's.

All in all, a good turnout. At least by the sign of books that sold out. Afterwards, a few of us walked down to a local eatery and continued to enjoy another perfect weather So Cal winter day.

I love the blue late model with the Porsche alloys, it shows up every once in awhile....isn't it Ted Domingo's car? ALWAYS looks and sounds great.

I was lucky enough to photograph Jay Leno's collection two years ago & interview the man himself. GREAT guy! He owns close to 100 cars + 100 bikes.
Some pics below. One of my favorite cars might have been the '66 Olds Toronado - a total sleeper! 1100 hp (!), twin turbo, Corvette suspension, ABS... Insane.

I dig the McLaren F1 and I think I see an Alfa 1750 back there too. Anybody know, does he offer tours?

Stephan & Rick, thanks for the replies. That orange Lambo has been my fave model since high school.

Back to thread content... I was so impressed by what I saw at Autobooks, my roommate (also ex-D.K.K. member) and I are gonna drive out there in my old BMW this morning. I showed him the pictures that I took from Stephan's book signing and he was stoked to say the least. A fellow car/motorcycle/airplane nut... I think he'll dig the place.

Sorry to dig up this old topic...
Since Autobooks ran out of books during the signing, a few of you guys could not buy the book. Therefore, Autobooks offered the unlucky few to put their name on a list. Well, I went to Autobooks today and the books are now in stock. (All have been signed).

Feel free to contact Autobooks, so you can either pick up your book, or they might send it to you. Phone number is 818.845.0707.

Please contact me by PM or email (stsphoto@earthlink.net) if you have questions. Thanks again!
