I ran buggy bumpers on my '64 in the mid 70's, inspired by Marc Souter's Aqua '67.
Later, I replaced the buggy bumpers with late model T bars... yes, the bars had to be re-drilled, and I had to open the fender and apron cut-outs but I liked the look of the larger T bars on an early car... guess I broke the "rules" a bit.
I still think buggy bumpers are cool when inatalled right... I'm sure you know what I mean, some look a bit funky.

Not to sure about buggy bars , sure they are cal look , bore out of necessity to keep the local law enforcement happy , Don't think i would put them on one of my car's . IMO I always thought it makes the car look a bit wheel barrow ish , like a handle you need to grab hold of to move the car around not that you could pick it up of-coarse

The red car with the glass front end was the Wayne Davis car. It was pictured in HVWs in probably '82 with the body off andthe pan fully detailed. One of my favorites. The yellow vert with the gold 8 spokes was a great car. Hey Worm - paint yours yellow too!

Fabs, if you do buggy bumpers they need to be painted body color... or maybe black. I think that would look best on your standard.

Bumper bars and tee bars alll came about the califorina inacted a new bumper requirement in the early 70's. Up until then, no bumpers were required. I mentioned this in another post that my split window was the second car to have them. I actually had the idea and shared it with a guy from DVB. He actually tried it before I did. They orginally with skid plate mounted rear bumpers for a fiberlass buggy. We cut them down a little and gave them a slight re shape. I only installed a front one, but others then did the same for a rear bar. Shortly after Auto Haus started selling a version similar to what we had used.
