Great to hear you are coming! The Slugs garage is organizing a Dyno Day on the 18th, a day before VW-Open. The dyno is located about 30km from Hellsinki and the fun begins 0900hrs in the morning. That is a great chance to check your potential and/or make some last-minute adjustments so that you'll be ready to take on the Finnish racing machinery.

There is plenty of time to get back to Hellsinki afterwards for some garage-spying and of course barbequing and having a few beers! If any of you are interested, let me know and we'll make some preliminary reservations. Checking out the event as a spectator is cool as well and you are all more than welcome to join in!

This years Slugs Dyno Day can be viewed at http://www.kingrattus.com/dynoday/  Due to wishes from the participants, no results are displayed but the videos are there! The site is unfortunately only in finnish but I'm sure you'll find the flicks.

Regards,
Valtteri
valtteri@kingrattus.com

PS. Our garage, located in the center of Hellsinki, is open for all comers. The only requirement is that you'll let us treat you to a beer!

It`s about time we move this thread back to the top again.

We`re a couple of guys that plan to drive from Oslo on the 17`th of May and take the ferry from Stockholm the same day 1700am. We arrive in Helsinki 0955pm on the 18`th. Your dynoday would sure be nice to visit - do you know if it will be time for a test and tune or is it just scheduled one dance on the dyno for each car? And can you recommend a place to camp in Helsinki from the 18`th to 19`th?

Thanks!

Hey guys, the Slugs Dynoday is coming up... here's a little trailer for the event, don't miss it:
http://www.kingrattus.com/dynoday/trailer/DynoDay2007.avi

Hopefully all is well with our Norwegian brothers and their monstrous hulk of a VW!

Remember, all foreign dynoers will get a place in the Slugs Hall of Fame for all eternity (plus cold beer), so book your tickets already! =)

Cheers,
Valtteri

EDIT. Never mind the wrong date, the event is being held on the 18 of May....sorry 'bout the error, I guess I was too drunk when I made it...  Roll Eyes

It isn't more to say than a big thank you to all our friends from the land of saunas for a fantastic vw weekend. Great racing, nice cars, good beer, scary garage-tours and lots of friendly and nice people.

And yes, the story behind "Mr. B" was quite funny  Wink

Greets from DWL also and it was nice to meet you norwegians also! Our pic gallery isn't so complete bacause we were quite busy with our fiberglass racer on the track.

And on sunday in "Urhon ajot", our side-track analysis of our engine disaster was quite right, here are some insightful pictures of our engine.

Cheers!

First off - it was a pleasure talking to you DWL guys - your approach to our hobby was truly inspirational. First dragracing on Saturday and then the 6 hour race on Sunday - with the same car!

Sorry to see the results from your accident - dam that does not look pretty at all! I hope you guys will fix it and be ready soon.

Best rgs and good luck,
Kalle
