I was referred to this site by another memeber....ahem... Jim.
Here's mah story...

For the past 6 years I've worked in the automotive business and I recently quit working to take a break and try and find something a bit more interesting or challenging rather....turns out...I really like cars and just hated the owner of the place I was working.
I'm 23. Born in Chicago, raised in NYC, and moved out to the Bay Area in 2000.

I never thought I'd even own a car until I'd lived out here a few years. People don't really have cars or even a DL in NYC...we had the subway.

I'm very into air cooled VW, Porsche, watercooled VW, weird Audis, hot rods and things of that nature.
I used to own a few neat cars but sold them out of necessity...
1967 VW Dune Buggy playboy body
1977 Porsche 911 w/ 3.2l
1986 Porsche 911 w/ just a piece of shit

I currently have a few motorcycles I run at the track, 2 american classic cars that were given to me by my father, 1 1948 Indian, and my daily driver...the 1992 Corrado G60.
It's awesome. I like it. It handles well....it does everything well except when it comes to...oh...the windows rolling up and down in a predictable manner.

I like music, cooking, volunteer work, movies, crappy tv, pretty much anything that distracts me from my life as I know it.
Travelling is something I'd like to do more of but being that I currently unemployed there is nothing to fund this.

Amadeus is my favorite movie followed very closely by the Doors movie.
I love John Belushi and Jimi Hendrix. I like to ponder conspiracy theories. Places that are allegedly haunted interest me.

Hopefully I have a nice bug like Rattos sometime soon. I'm looking to build one for the street. I live in a neighborhood I doubt anyone would try to take it...no matter how shiny.

Larry Mck---we've already talked on the phone. I know you'll never forget me.  Kiss
Ratto- you rat bastard. Now I have a new place to waste time....this forum.

Below is a pic or two of me. I've actually never met anyone on this forum but Jim was my sales rep when I was working at my last job. I was so bored and such a chatterbox I think we ended up finding out we have similar music taste.
Next time you guys have a meet somewhere in So Cal let me know......I'll jet down there. I have the time.

Welcome to the fray. So lemme get this straight... you like Porsches, aircooled VWs and Audis? We're gonna get along just fine. Those are all great cars in my not-so-humble opinion.

Carry on.

Lemme get a bit more specific.
I like Karman Ghias and Bugs. After working at shops for so long I really don't like the buses.
Nothing personal...but....everytime someone came in for something involving a bus I'd end up sitting on my thumb.
Parts were just getting really hard to come by, at least for me.
Audis...I don't really like anything new. I think any new stinks to be quite honest.
I like quirky cars. I like Audi ER Quattros and oddball shit.
I love MK1 MK2 GTIs, Corrados and Sciroccos.
I do have to admit to also being a bimmer lady. I forgot to mention my old 1970 2002. Most fun I'd had with a car...
except when shit broke!
New Porsches..... If I could afford one...I'd probably buy an old shitty one instead and donate the rest of the money to a cause greater than my instant gratification...but I do have a fund for that as well.

I'm currently looking at buying a new car because my fiance has a son and I don't feel that my car is equipped enough safetywise for him.
We are looking at some MK4 GTIs (and R32s) as well as E36 M3s.
Yeah I want a safe car...but that doesn't mean it can't haul ass.

Here is a photo with a funny story.
This picture was taken on Halloween.
My boss was out of town and I was running the shop.
My co worker/housemate introduced me to the show "Arrested Development".
I decided to go to work dressed as Charlize Therons character as the mentally retarded British female.
My co worker called in sick....and I was the only one at work...running the show and dressed like that....
One of the customers actually got it and took a bunch of goofy pictures of me.
Here is a good one.

What can I say. I'm a popular internet hit.
(I made a joke!!!!)
I look at all of your threads and I don't think man boobs or dicks are really that nice to look at.
You guys are nice and funny. I'm a total ballbuster. Maybe I look nice and funny but people get put off by my New York humor.
I can't help it if I'm from New York!?

Update: I may be purchasing my old housemates 1974 Karmann Ghia in what I like to call "IRA Green".
(plus he's Irish)
Needs a new motor and I have just the one it wants. The price is right. He wants one dollar.
Welcome to the family little guy.
