I'm loving the new look for your BRM's Mark! Sets the car apart! Thank you, JHU... exactly what I was after.

Let us hope not. Is this because they are so hideous that you couldn't bear the thought of every other car out there having them................? Or because they are good as originals and it should stay that way? Just curious on your houghts

I have a set of Porsche pattern Cosmics. I bought 11 wheels to get 5 very nice wheels, and I spent a lot of time and a lot of money (for the time, now they are worth much more) to get them. It would really piss me off if they were reproduced and any Joe Schmo with an internet connection and a Visa could order up the "same" wheels

I know mine aren't Porsches pattern. I have to stay with 4-lug as its is the theme of my car (being a Euro model). I totally agree with you regarding their value. I paid much much more to have them restored than I paid just to get them.... Much respect

Hey Fred, you ever consider having them anodised? I've recently picked up a set of early Fuchs that I'm going back and forth on polishing and painting, or having them anodised and painted. Personally I like a little bling, but I also like the all business look of anodised alloys. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. I've always liked alloys, always felt they were the ultimate wheel. When I was a young buck I could never afford them so now I can. I'll run 'em for awhile till something else strikes my fancy. For the moment, I'm running fully polished early Superior wheels. Something you don't see every day. -jeffrey

Jeffrey, your car looks GREAT!!! Forgive me, but those wheels like a lot like early Rivieras. Your car would look excellent with a set of anodized Fuchs 911 wheels, in my opinion.
To answer your question... I just got the quotes from two powder coating shops to do my BRMs in matte silver. WOW... way too expensive for my tastes. Guess I'll look into seeing how much a clear anodize coat will run. If it's too much, I'll just keep 'em sand blasted and the matte clear finish that I sprayed on 'em. I never considered the anodized route... thanks for the suggestion.

Aww... those teddy bear wheels are just simply adorable. Hey, Worm... LOOK, it's your favorite wheel. Remember those?
Egad, I sadly can still recall seeing those on the road. Thankfully, that phase came and went with the tide.

HAHA!! Yeah, I remember those daisy ones, as well. Although... I've yet to see them painted. They were either painted silver or gawdy chrome. I dare anyone to Cal Look a VW and use either of those wheels.

WOW, I've never seen those 4 lug fuch wheels I had four lug Fuchs forged wheels on my '66 for a brief few months. Even added 911 Fuchs center caps. Looked pretty cool, at the time.

Here's mine...Kinda 60's pre-cal-look with real 356 (4.5") rims in the rear. I am getting ready to build a new set of steel rims for this car and would like to have them powdercoated in red as well. I'm going to jam a 26" radial on the rear for a little "meaner" stance, but leave the same height tire in the front (on a 5.5" rim). Which idea do you guys like better? I have been running this setup on the car for the last 13 years (I change to 4.5" and 5.5" chrome mangels in the summer time), but I am thinking about building some 5.5" rims for the rear and I can't decide if I should use a smooth center or a stock wide Mangel. Also, I am thinking about building a pair of smoothies for the front that have the same front spacing but are 5.5" wide for some wider (lower profile) tires. I actually like the slots in the rear and smoothies in the front as it "breaks thing up" a little. I think it might look too plain if I have smoothies all the way around it (but wider and "punched" on the rear). I don't want to put fancy wheels on this car since I drive it everywhere. Plus the car has always been built as a 60's style hot rod...If I had my way, this car would be a 32 Ford ! Okay, maybe not , but it is styled after a primered hot rod-Plain and simple!
