Thanks for the comments guys. Keeps the motivation going. Finished the final assembly of both doors and will post some pics soon. Broke my foot so progress has been slim.

Well, after a hiatus on working on completing the car, I finally got the chance to finish it as the fiancé wants it ready for the wedding in May! Just got the 5 speed back from Rancho, motor is back from my builder and finally in the car. Have a few loose ends to finish before we get it running. Waiting for an A1 custom sidewinder and a traction bar. Then it's off to get the electrical completed. Here are some specs on the motor: 2332 42x37.5 Autocraft stage 3 heads ( older midget racing heads) should make plenty of power! CB2300 camshaft 5.4 rods plan to try different rod lengths for power range 10.7:1 compression should make some good power and should be fun on the street! Hopefully the 5 speed helps compensate for the large lift cam though.. swapped pulleys to Jaycee version. Very nice stuff!

Well,
Car is off to get the wiring completed. Should have it back on Sunday. Slap the exhaust on, finish some oil lines and fuel lines, fire her up! I will post some pictures once the car is back. Can't wait to get it on the street and see what it will do!

Hi Cedric,
Jack from Jaycee and I had a quick discussion on the setup for remote bypass. He mentioned that the bypass at filter mount will bypass oil to the sump if it senses above 80psi at the remote mount to keep from blowing up the oil filter or lines. You can actually leave in the stock bypasses or remove and plug the 3/4 plunger if you would like. He didn't mention any added benefit in doing so. In my opinion, the more bypasses the better although, oil pressure should definitly be monitored as it is somewhat overlooked. I am running a universal case so I got Jaycee's adapter with a -8 fittng to run the bypass line to. If you don't have a universal case, you will have to add a sump and drill and tap it for a fitting to return the oil to the sump.
His by pass oil pump cover can also be run in conjunction with this system as the bypass is set at 120 psi to act as a second or third bypass in the system. This cover is easily adaptable with a universal case and his adapter. He has great information on his website about the product. If your interested, give him a call and he will glady ansewer any questions.

After a LONG wait, it was worth it. Got my new A-1 1-3/4 Stainless sidewinder exhaust. After looking the exhuast over in and out, I have to say Tiger is class act act when it comes to his products. The exhaust is damn near perfect! Nice to see thick flanges which are surfaced "true" and not warped out of the box. Excited to see how it sounds.

Well, a year later and the project is finally completed. I have had the chance to put about 2500 miles on it so far and still adjusting things here and there. Overall, it drives like a new car! Here are a few pictures of it in its current state. Time to hit more shows this year and hopefully see what it turns at the track. So far the car has made 196 hp at the wheels at 6500 (pull to 7k) with belt and the mag was cutting out. It should be making a bit more after I swapped the magneto to an mad setup as well as some carb jetting changes as well. Looking to hit the 200hp mark at the wheels and pull it to 8k as it still had some power left in it. Nor Cal Vintage vw and porsche treffen 2014 Kelley Park 2014

Thanks Guys! I know the title says 5 years later...more like 8 years later! Been driving it and working the kinks and squeaks out. Added some new components to the suspension and getting them dialed in.
