So I was thumbing through my May 97 VW Trends today, checking out the Coral 54 Rag on color-keyed Fuchs that I really really dig. And suddenly it dawns on me that it is the same car that runs with the Greenhearts. Glad to see it has held up so beautilfully over the years. Altho, what's up with changing out the plaid seats and panels???

It's changed a bit since then. Chris (crlincoln on here) has made a few changes to make it his own... Runs Burners (summer) and Fuchs (winter) interior now has Beard low back seats and fat bisuit style panels trimmed and installed by club member Randy.

Car needed some minor mods , may change the panels again but will have to wait and see.. all the plaid seats and panels are sitting in my loft ready to be put back in another 10 yrs time.

Very cool, thanks guys. Its a terrific looking car both then and now.
Did it still have the color-keyed Fuchs when you picked it up Chris?

Ok, got some opinion juice flowing tonight, so here goes:
While Gasburners are awesome wheels, they're just not doing it for me on every car. So I must say, I like the detailed Fuchs much better on that car.
We could really go on and on and on about how Fuchs are everywhere right now, but a polished/anodised(even better) and paint detailed set is really hard to beat on most any car.

It's a car that had been 1 owner , but not driven for 18 years , when KS bought it 7 years ago , and a lady customer of mine , named Jane Griffiths , bought it from him when he shipped it here . It has never been welded , I lowered and narrowed the front beam , fitted CB Drop Spindles and disc brakes , with Porsche pattern rear drums . Jane's son polished the wheels and I detailed them . I filled the car with 11 litres of waxoyl rustproofing treatment , everywhere ! She drives it 3 miles a day , to the School she works at . It drives beautifully , one of the nicest original cars I have driven . I keep trying to persuade her to get it painted , but she loves it as it is . It would make an awesome car though , if gone through properly

That's exactly what i am aiming for! i have the euro 67 now, but i'm converting to US spec. i just takes me such a long time with all my constraints that i constantly see other US 67s popping up. hope to be done for coming season though!
