Hey buddy there is another cool little trick you can do - you should replace ALL the gearbox case nuts and washers with brand new items (maybe stainless Undecided) it just gives the gearbox a really nice detailed finish  Smiley

yes cool idea lee but i'm hurry to fit the gearbox on the car , and replace the engine , and driving again the car

so it is not in the car yet???  Grin

good work. looks like you are cheking up everything. Lee's idea is a good one though. the new nuts would defintely make it all look even better.

just a question, do you use the one piece booths/ rubbers for the axles? i have them and they are the best investment i have done last year. they don't leak a drop.

you need to put some in and see if the tube can move down on it's own weight. if not put in a thicker one or add a thin one until it just slips down. since you powdercoated the gearbox it will be different as before. i am not sure if the paint comes lose or not due to the corrosive gearoil, but i would leave the tubes on the tight side. so it moves down, but maybe not all the way, as the paint will scratch and then you'll have more play afterwards.

good thing about the booths. the first one was hell then i got to know how to do it and now they are on in minutes

If your sidecovers dint have any papergaskets because they are sealed with o-rings you shouldnt put in papergaskets. If you do you change the preload of the ring and pinjon for the worse. Try to check the play between the ring and pinjon when you have it together. Not more than 0.20 mm.

at the begining it was easy , and after the bearing didn't want to come down on the axle and by trying to make it come down, it is half a moon which moved  Undecided
Where from I've of to re-dismount the clips and to put back the half a moon correctly in the sidegear  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
