We didn't think we could make SCC however we may be able too!
Can someone confirm the mileage from Calais? Or if there is a better ferry? As we would be bringing the bug!
Thanks!

It's something like 1250 (miles) but there are a few alternatives. One would be the Ferry from Newcastle to Stavanger which lands you a days drive from the track.  Smiley

There´s a couple of options on how to get there.

We did the Fredrikshavn - Oslo ferry when going to EBI1, very nice since you arrive in Oslo in the morning fresh and completely rested. At a cost of course...
Last year when travelling to EBI2 we did the Puttgarden - Rødby ferry(45 min) and drove the whole trip in one sitting.
Took us 22 hours with car and trailer. No problem really, put I wouldn´t have gone racing afterwards!  Smiley

The Oslo - Chimay trip is about 1500km, not sure how much longer Oslo - Calais is, but no more than 1600.

It would have been a nice option and they could tag along with us driving from Stavanger.... but.. the strech from Newcastle to Stavanger does not exist anymore. I'm still hoping it will pop back now with the new terminal etc. to have a short trip to the UK this year.. but...

BTW. Looking very much forward to seeing your car up close Adele!

Thanks, im going to take a look now! I seem to remember a little while ago when we looked at possible coming that there was a commercial freighter going to  Lincolnshire to Norway! Crazy, but going to see if it is still available!

** Edit, just found it on your Site, ferry from Immingham !! Hmm, taking a look now! Does anyone know how far a drive it is from there to SCC ?

Thanks Smiley

Ok, i have done some homework andi have pretty much answered all of the questions i asked, so sorry Smiley

Right i have found 2 ferries, one from Immingham ( Grimsby for you southerners!! ) to Brevik, and Immingham to Gotherburg. By my calculation Gotherburg to Gardermoen is around 190 miles.

There is a ferry (food and cabin included) from Immingham departing Thursday 0400 arriving Gothenburg 08am Friday, just in time to drive up to the track.
The Brevik one is 42 hours, but i dont think its worth it as its still a 2 hour journey to the track ? plus Ferry goes out Wed, day earlier !

Just working out the prices now, but if we were to drive alone ie across europe it would be around £650 in fuel, let alone the other ferries !

Plus this way, Immingham is only an hour or so from where we live Smiley

Oh we may have 2 spare places if anyone does not mind a 28 hour ferry, and a short car journey either side ??

I know it's a bit late in the game, but we are doing dover-dunkirque and then driving to copanhagen where we get a ferry to Oslo, think we are pretty much on the same route as Martin.

So Excited about this already and its still months to go Cheesy

Can someone out there in Scandanavia tell me what is the best way to travel from Gothenburg, Sweden to the area near SCC in Norway and/or perhaps somewhere west of there, so that I could possibly catch up with some of the people doing the pre-event "tour" in the days before?

Anything "tricky" about renting a car in Sweden and drving in/out/around Norway?

Thanks!

Eric, you will have no trouble with driving a Swedish rental car over the border. But there is also a excellent train connection from Gothenburg to SCC (Oslo International Airport).
I also know there will be people from the Gothenburg region racing at SCC. Send me a PM if you want to get in touch with them  Wink
