Hey guys, thought I would finally log into this forum...so I guess I am new to this whole VW scene Smiley I thought Id post this question here, since it is So Cal based....Who can direct me to a knowledgable painter to squirt the new ride? I need someone with a general knowledge of the VW body, and who isnt ill to the VW scene. Any helpers out there?

Cheers,

Eric J

Hi there Eric, Welcome to the Lounge.

But before you make new "friends"  Grin  The lounge is worldwide, not So Cal based. If anywhere, the main entrance of the Lounge is in Norway! So Cal is nothing but the back door  Tongue

Eric! Haven't seen you in a while! I miss seeing that T34 at the shows/drags. What a bitching car that was. Why dont you just flat black it and squirt the roof white?? Wink Cheesy Seriously though, I've heard good things about Medrano's... no personal experience though. What is the new ride??

Hey what's up Eric, I would go talk to the Medranos as well. They have painted a few cars for a friend of mine and all of them look awesome. They are by far the best bang for the buck. I will try and dig up their phone # for you. Good luck with the new ride. The last time I saw your car was at Carlsbad before going to VW Paradise for the Pre Classic BBQ. That car was bad ass. See ya.

If everything goes as planned (fingers crossed), there will be an early '55 in the Justus garage tomorrow. New father and son project for '09. Hoping to debut at Bugorama in May.
Don't want to give too much away here, but we're hoping to REALLY crane some necks here with the best of both worlds. Hope the $$ can hold up......

Mango green is such a nice colour. I was thinking about it for my 66, but I think it only suits vintage/older cars.

You already have the older car and it looks like you will get rid of the vintage pretty well with those golden Empi's. Because that was the other reason holding me back, what wheels except absolutely vintage wide five sprintstars fit on Mango Green  Huh I think you will have nailed it though, I'm curious to see the result.

The 5-Spokes are just for rolling it around. The "new" rims are on the way.

try Medrano's in L.A. 323 268-1414. They painted three of my cars all turned out great and the price was right. The best part is they said it would be done in a month and it was done on time for the price quoted!! Try and get a painter to do that.

The Medranos are good people, known all of them for over 25 years, they will treat you right for sure. They do excellent work. Maybe some of the guy's here can post pic's of there car painted by them.

Thanks for posting the cool vids and pics on the car. i hope the new owner is enjoying it. sometimes i wish i didnt sell it...but i guess you make dumb decisions when you are only 21  Sad
I wonder if a line-loc was put on the car? All of my burn outs were done by my monkey feet, no line-loc! Shocked Does anyone know if the car has ever been sunk into the 11's yet? I only made about 3, 11 second passes in the car. That car has traveled more than me!!!

It seems like Fredy has monkey feet too!  Grin No line-loc until now and no 11sec passes yet  Embarrassed.
But Fredy is looking forward to the next season! Bitburg was his first dragrace ever.
We will see.
