Bin cleaning the innerwing area some more and then started to cut the donor wing. The donor wing is a '66 but it is hard, never welded and I'm sure I can make it fit [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Nice work! Spot welds are a nightmare! I only had to deal with about 15 this weekend, but that was enough! So are you gonna run the body shell like that? With little clear plasic pannels so that we can see yout feet? hehe Its moving along nicely Paul! J

J Hi J, The spotwelds are not so bad, just a lot Clear plastic is an option, but I think I'll keep it all VW steel Cheers Paul.

Took out the last prats today. Wiper motor, wiring loom, switches, Speedo, windows etc. only thing left is the ragtop. Then it was time to hang the body on top of the chassis and see where it goes wrong Next thing I want to do is to make the chassis rolling, so that I can roll it out of the way when working on the body. Paul.

Of course it is going wrong....but hey, like you said; nothing can't be solved. The heater tubes (underneed the backseat) where in the way and the body mounts (on the torsion tube) don't fit. nothing that a grinder and welder can't fix. Paul.

First thing I had to do now was hang the body, this way I can remove the pan, work on the body and roll the pan back in it's place again. Took out the right heaterchannel. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]
The body mount had to go, i need this space for my wheels. The mount will be welded back on the inside of the wing. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I want to use the doorpillar from my '66 as a donor So I took some tape, placed it on the '66, draw some lines on it, took it of and placed it on the '56. I found out that the difference is on the window side only, the window is smaller (of course) but the rest is the same. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Tried this at the door hinge place as well, only difference is the fourth hole. After a short period without inspiration, I started to do some work on the car again.
Cutting the donor piece, try fit it, meassure it and cutting, testing and me measuring again. It's a long and boring job, but I don't want to cut to much.
