Isnt this ment to be "street" vw's cause not many of the above look like daily/ sunny day street cars IMO  Huh

Pick one and tell me why it isn't a street car, in your opinion ofcourse.

I'll start, spot the one with a 1776 that is just off 11's and drove to Bug-In and back. Your go.

Ok my go Wink

Dont this is very street car may have a MOT but couldnt really see you going to pick the kids up from school in it can you?

Dont think wheelie bars are for road use do you?

I know for a fact this was traliered

Bernies was on there some where tell me how many street miles on that??

I wasnt try to be a smart was jst intrested in more STREET cars than RACE cars with a MOT or driven to a track and back thats all

Isnt a person allowed to ask a question thought that was what this is all about?

Had my rant now  Cool

Miss Daisy reguarly drives his on the road, he does most of his mapping that way

Peters get a good thrashing on the road, how else can you 'test' new gearbox setups

And mine is regular out on the streets of west yorkshire, I go to work in it when the suns out. And I'd like to inform you that mine race's on road legal tires and regular unleaded fuel. along with its MOT, Tax and insurance.

Driving a car down the road to "test" a gearbox or to set mapping up dosnt mean its a street car in my books

Iv done this many times in MOT'd race cars including a lemans GT40 entrant and i dont call it a street car sorry.

Street Car = A reguarly used car or sunny day car, Driven to and from the track every year without any slicks in my book.

If it gets trailered there, pushed to the start line, then raced, put back on a trailer, then placed in a garage till the next race its not a street car, even if has got MOT, tax and insurance

And if I have offened anybody about there cars im sorry but I was only saying what I thought (freedom of speech  Wink)

P.S still a great thread thou  Grin

Let`s keep this from going off topic please.

There are some things you can never discuss on a forum;

- Street cars or race cars
- Gun control with Americans
- Music
- Religion

In that order.

All the "fun" at the Ace used to be great, but then it got way out of control at the Tuesday evening air-cooled gatherings. A few too many near misses for my liking and got shit scary to watch.

Its simple. A street car sees more STREET time than TRACK time. Grin Hope to get some pics of my car blasting off soon.

at  Flame and Thunder my bug definetly saw more street time than track time, but the less said about that the better or i might get my wrist slapped again!!

Andy (if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all) street car Marriott

My car Ashcroft in the late eighties, or early ninties. I can't remember which. But I do remember it was running 12.13 to 12.15 sec.
