Ooooooooooooo, how did I miss THIS?

Sorry... but I'm a big fan of '66 Beetles. Can't tell from the pic, but is that Bahama Blau?

Sure is and always has been.  Paint is pretty tired at this time and has plenty of rock chips and two dents in the driver side front fender thanks to a shelf collapse in the garage.

Isnt this ment to be "street" vw's cause not many of the above look like daily/ sunny day street cars IMO  Huh

As you seem to be critisizing so many of the posters and there cars?I assume you have a quick street legal Cal look car that fits your comments on others?

how come you are unable to read the original post? too busy thinking of negative things to write?
this had nothing to do with running slicks or fan belt etc,it was about "Posting pictures of street cars blasting off"  but you were unable to do this, only to cause trouble and stir up sh*t

pretty sad I think Sad Roll Eyes

This isnt the place for all that nonsense, thankyou

cheers richie

PS yes my car does run a belt & cooling, with "pump gas" bio fuel available from Morrisons supermarkets but i do run slicks at the track as the car is quicker and SAFER this way,if thats not good enough in you book,I dont care Angry. Its the way I choose to run my car.

Huh don't think so Matt...............and don't bite down too hard on peach fellas,he has a couple of disadvantages,he is young(upside of this is one can legitimately hit him up side the head and send him to his room with no supper)and secondly he is a ginga, although this is considered an attribute in some quarters.End of the day, better an outspoken and slightly over exhuberant opininion, but still into fast vw,s than a jaded embittered "there is only one way and it's our way approach".Let's all play nicely chaps......we all like the same shit ;)Back to the AWESOME photos, they are the reason I still spend every spare dime on mine Grin

Ginga is either someone with ginger / red hair or is cockney rhyming slang and rhymes with "Ginger Beer" - I think he means the former in this case though.

Even my wife was impressed and that's saying something  Cheesy  For me it was the way it just stuck to the strip and was just sooo fast.  If memory serves me right it was towards the end of the day's session and not 'that' many people saw it?

Ginga's a very bad thing. In the UK ginga's aren't trusted as they show devious habits. Such as Ballbag and Peach  Shocked

This should throw the cat amongst the pigeons...  Not a car, a bus and it is a street driven one at that! Anyway, it's a cool Volkswagen blasting off the line so it's kinda fits the category Cool

This is one of my favourite photos I have ever taken: 'Lil Pete' Shattock's 1776cc screamer launching hard at Bug Jam 2003. For those of you unfamiliar with the car, it is driven to the track, has the mufflers and street tyres replaced with stinger/slicks and then is driven like it was stolen! Runs 12.2 second quarters, has the street 'gear' bolted back on and is then driven 150 miles home. To me, this car is the absolute proof that you can build a competitive street and strip car that is at home both on the street and track.

For me, Bug Jam 2003 was perhaps the pinnacle of interesting street cars turning up and blasting huge wheelies, then being driven home... Cool
