Thought I would share a few pics just to get this area started.

I purchased this car in 94 and have spent the last 12 years working on it.  It has gone through different changes, all with the purpose of going faster.  I am trying to convince the other half that it should be a race car, but....

Two years ago I started on a new direction, bigger motor, uprated gerabox etc.

The car mostly sits in my garage whilst the paint goes dull.

But I have just done some work on it.

1.  Line lock installed, wired up and plumbed in (Only took 16 months to get round to it)

2. Seat frames tack welded in place using original VW runners, to mount Beards. (Only took 12 months to get round to it).  Dropping them off at the welders tomorrow to have them tig welded.

3.  New fuel tank with weld on AN fittings tacked in place, #10 outlet, #8 return, #6 breather. (This was quick for me, I got the tank in August)  These are off to the welder to be tigged (Is this a word?) and then powder coat.

4. Just ordered the last parts for my new engine: 94 long barrels, forged flywheel, JayCee push rod tubes, scat followers.  I can then book it in for building and hopefully it will be ready for xmas!!!

5. Autometer gauges are all mounted under the dash and wired in.

Things left to do:

1. Bleed the brakes.

2. Sort out rear axle, brake drum problem.

3.  Fit new fuel pump and filter.

4.  Set up carbs and fire it up Smiley

Yeah I know, when i got the car the bloke had just started to weld up the dash.  Luckily I have another complete dash in the shed.  Maybe in 2009 I will sort it out. Wink

Not done any work, but I have managed to source some more parts for it.

Picked up some red Koni fronts, collecting new battery tomorrow (old one won't charge, luckily it had a 4 yr guarantee)

Finally fitting front seats, will post pic when tis done.

Method for attaching beards to stock runners, goes out to Pete Roberts and Andy Jewell.  thanks for the pics guys.

okay the front Koni's are on.

All that's left to do: Bleed brakes, fit new oil filter. Fill it up with petrol.  Fire it up.

If any body has any rear konis they don't want let me know.

Thanks for looking.

I was lucky, i got a pair off ebay.co.uk for £24 ($57), but we can get them over here from lots of UK online sellers.  They aren't cheap at about £60 each.

Got the engine running today, it still needs tuning as it back fires as you take you foot off the gas.  But only this and the brakes left to do. Smiley

The last day of my hols and the sun is out!

Welded in the midmount brackets to the frame horns.  New welder so had to get used to it, burnt my hand!

Going to weld in the torque bar, and fit the door panels.

over a year since i did any work on the car!

I have dropped my engine bits off, so the 2276 or 2332 (still not made up mind) will be finished in the new year.  Its been built in between jobs by Jim Calvert.

Will be taking the old engine out and selling off the spare bits, this might pay for some of the labour.

One way or another the car will be rolling this Spring Smiley
