Here goes
The plan is to build a street/strip bug with a 1776cc normally aspirated, fire breathing mousr motor and 'built' box. it will be built to full MSA spec so i can run in the VWDRC 'Pro' class which has an index of 12.99 or quicker. there will be no flip front and the car will have all the road equipment such as wipers and lights. It will run a full 6 point cage and be a 2-seater. I live 50 miles away from santa pod, this is the driving distance i have given myself in this car
I also weigh 15 stone, I am also planning to loose a few pies to aid my targets!!
I've already collected some parts for the project such as, a pair of hoosier quick times, NOS 145 XZX's,Jamar Hydraulic pedal assembly, vertex magneto and pro-control.
The car will run race weight ERCOs, Standard width beam and drums all round for the moment.

Can you tell me please where those Hoosier tyres are available in europe and which size those are? Ah, nearly forgot: how much are they?
Thanks in advance!

I bought them second hand at a swap meet
try
sales@hoosiertyre.co.uk
or
www.jegs.com
, with the dollar as it is buying them from the states would be a good option.

Having sold parts for British cars for about 10 years, I always thought that Joseph Lucas was the "Prince of Darkness!"

Only surpassed in 'reliability' by Italian automotive electrics.

few more updates, it's far too cold to work on the car at the moment, just making some adjustments to the body mounts so the pan can be bolted to the body

Bolted the front wings on this morning as it's the easiest way to store them:D
the body is sitting flat on the pan now and i just need a hand to get it in position to bolt down:D

It's been done many times before, Ian Clarke of wolfsburg performance recorded a best time of 12.80 seconds with his street car with a 125 cam,1.25:1 rockers and jeff denham 42 x 37 heads and the obligatory Idas. that car was all steel and I know the car is lighter being a '51. I had a long conversation with ian the other day and didn't seem to feel it was that far fetched a target

I've done feck all in the last couple of months apart from collect parts, but crewing for bernie is inspiring me to pull my finger out and get some work done
picked up the rear wings for a tenner each at stanford hall earlier this year, think i'm going to use them but if they take more than an hour of massaging to fit i'm just going to ditch them and fit some from Day mouldings
I've compared them to a stock wing and they didn't seem any wider, but looking at it on the car I think it is, any ideas?
