EMPI VDM steering wheel - How often do you see these in the UK?

A very rare accessory! An EMPI VDM deep dish steering wheel measuring, 400mm (15.5") with chromed spokes and horn ring. Originally made in Germany these were sold by EMPI in the US during the 60’s as an accessory upgrade.

This is not a fake, this is the real deal, brought in from the states only recently from a collector. Will fit Bug, KG, and Type 3, 61–74. Horn Button is not being sold with the wheel however the wheel will accept a Wolfsburg crest horn push, which they were sometimes advertised with. These can be bought separately.

These sell as collector’s pieces for between $500 - $800 / £360 - £580 based on current rates of exchange so this is a real bargin and priced accordingly due to the push being missing

The VDM steering wheel - made by Gustav Petri AG, Aschaffenburg - was offered normally with the golden carriage horn push. The same wheel with EMPI horn push button was offered only in the US and seems very rare nowadays. regards, tomi
