Of the five cars displayed in the "famous" Feb 1975 issue of HVWs, besides Mike Lemire's Oval and Holmes' white sedan, the only other one that still remains is Mark Bueller's red Split. Since it had/has original BRMs, I wonder where it is? I haven't seen Mark since the days when he ran the Auto Haus in La Habra (at the old Don Steve's Chevy location). Seems to me, he moved up to Washington state. Now this car would be a treasure for someone.... hint, hint.

I've always dug on both of those Splits. GREAT lookin' cars. Hopefully, someone can come up with the whereabouts of the car in question. Be neat to see it back on the road in So Cal.

I talked to Mark maybe about 15 years ago.  He still had the car, and he said it was close to coming together.  Mark, had one vice, (that I know of), and it was that it took him forever to finish anything.  Back around the late 70's he dismantled the car and sent it to get re-painted.  It sat there for over a year until the shop closed.  Just by luck he stopped by the day that all the cars in the shop were being towed away.  He got it back, but it was in pieces ever since then.  well...at least until  talked to him.  He told me that he just needed to finish the motor.  Oh....and he had about 20 real BRM's too.

I haven't heard from him since.

Ive emailed him back and forth since last night (so you are all too late !!!  Grin) thanks Sarge for the tip on how to contact him, anyway his car is still his car and very much part of him, even if hes into V8's now.......... however the big news is that Ron Fleming gave him 2 BRMs from underdog 2 when he retired the race car; which are still on his car today !!!!

So all in all what a great post deano. Thanks

I've offered to take on the restoration. It's headed down to Cornwall at the end of the week.

It landed in the country last week! We couldn't stop laughing like fools all day!
You're right about it taking a hit, by the way.

The Fleming & Aronson High Performance one has long gone (but I have some NOS ones of those) but the Valvoline and NGK decals are still visible. They're what kinda convinced me this is definitely the real deal when we found the car. Amazing that the engine is still there! Quite unbelievable. Cool

Marc Buehler is alive and well in Marysville, Washington!..............oh, yes......the car.............I still have it.
I think you guys have more pictures of it than I do  <grin>

The funny thing is that because I had been traveling the country helping a friend with his Nostalgic AA/Fuel Altered, I would see Deano (probably covering for Gasser Wars magazine or something) often at the races and tried saying hi to him, but I guess he didn't recognize me and/or was busy "working".
