HI Everyone

Fiatdude here --- One of those asshats from southern California here to pollute your cool site

Use to watch the Little Giant Killer and all the other Fiats back in the 70's racing and always thought they were cool but always had my VW.

In late '07, saw this one setting in a friends backyard, actually had been there for a couple of years and he had moved a bunch of stuff and I finally saw it.  So I talked him out of it (He has a few more) and started the build of it.

Here is a couple of pictures of what we started with.

So after some cutting and Hammering and more cutting and some welding and cussing we finally got the trans and enginge mounted using the stock swing arms (slightly modified of course)

We were able to get a 205/50/15 tire in under it. We keep the stock front end with Fiat 124 front discs mounted on it --- works good

The first engine was a tIV at about 2100cc

Now we had some HP and first thing I do is bend up the stock swing arms -- not bad but diffently scuffing off the rubber off the rear tires

So we built some swing arms and stuck them up in there

And finally got some shiny rims

We starting to get it dialed in -- At the last drag day, the first pass, as soon as I got up on boost in 2nd gear the clutch went bye bye -- we pulled the motor put in a 4 puke disc and a new stage 2 KEP pressure plate then we were stuck having to make the next pass during the first round of eliminations -- we were stuck in et2 with the quickest we could dial in was a 8.59, I figured I'd dial in a 8.7 and run people down and fender them.  Get up to the line and launch and immediatly booged the motor -- the puke diffently hooked up -- so finally get it wound up and start charging after the guy -- right at the top of 2nd gear I blow out one the intake gaskets (1 & 2) I go into third, short shift 4th and run 90 mph at 8.31 on 2 cylinders. Damn -- fixed that but I didn't want to play $25 it enter the consoluation brackets -- so started popping the tops of a few cans we had laying around and helping other guys still doing rounds.

So what next -- well, this 2919 ARPM is setting on the shelf-- maybe turbo it?HuhHuhHuh?

This car is Sooooooooooooooooo much fun on the street!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The car is on the street 90% of the time  and just occasionally goes to the races --- and there just aren't any out here -- and everybody digs it especially when I go stuff down in Orange County and LA -- and end up setting next to a Porsche or better and get more people looking at my car than a $100,000 car LOL

A friend of mine just finished the yellow car before he died -- it was Pat McDermitts old 600

Thanks everyone for the positive comments -- I'm really proud of this car and all the work many of my friends have done to help me get where it is at today -- -- was just looking at one of my posts where I say it's 90% street car -- -- I guess that means I'm gonna have to break down and put an interior into it LOL -- actually only need to do the carpet and the door rubber (I have the rubber on the shelf) the rest of it is done.

It's a shame the wife hates this car so much -- she wants me to sell it a buy another jeep so we can go four wheeling out in the desert -- I kinda like having it around just because it keeps her in such a jolly mood LOL

Richie --- If he accepts I'll have to get you to drive my car -- because everytime I do one of those big wheelies I lift like a little girl LOL

I don't think my mouth will overload my ass enough to race for pinks -- but racing for the fun of it is always . . . . eh  . . FUN
