Well i said to myself i wouldnt start a thread for my latest purchase but to keep me going it helps as a porject planner i feel. I have tried to complete lots of projects from Fiat 600s to 54 ovals then to Rx7 powerd skodas ( i know i know what the hell ) So now i am a little older 23 so i hope with a good bunch of mates and some hard effort i can get this 67 done.

Story so far, I have had a motor being built by Jeff Denham but needed a dub to take it, so an advert went up Bug wanted with out motor. Had a few really good cars posted over to me but one quiet PM from the then current owner of Jason McCreery's.

Long story short deal was struck for the whole car with the engine, but due to going away for some time over christmas the motor had to find a new home, which it did with a fellow club member.

So she was rebuilt by Paintbox 15 years ago so there is some sign of age, but no real rot just a bit of paint flake.  The inner arches are very good and fresh paint is

Basic plan
Tidy body work up after christmas , replace tired wings with Day mouldings
Fit short race axles and tubes
Fit Flat 4 6.5 inch BRMS with some custom 13" DDS style rims up front ( Taylor Machine made )
Fit the new motor with all the plumbing.

Cogbox built box which will have to do for now:
Ratio's - 4:125 ring and pinion

-         1st 3.78

-         2nd 2.06

-         3rd 1.26

-         4th 0.93

Later 3rd and 4th welded gears

Super diff

Heavy duty side plate

Steel shift forks

Anyway you get the idea for now so i will just update it over the winter and the plan is to have her rolling and running for vworld if my budget allows in paint.

Here is the wheel setup:

The 13"s need a really good polish to get rid of machine marks etc, but for an hour its not tooo bad Smiley

And picked this up at action to go with my speedwell steering wheel £20 , the rev limit arm needs a repair but its not a biggy.

That's a sharp looking car! Is it the same one that had two piece 5 spokes and was featured in Volksworld a few years back?

I enquired about this car about five years ago when Jason was first selling it. It is a great starting point for a nicely done Looker. Good luck with the project!

Smiley I am very happy with it, although the paint cost might be rather alot.

What do you guys think ! Loose the pop outs? I think it would look so smouth without them.

Not sure if this car ever got a feature but i would love to get whens shes complete Wink

As far as I remember Rob, it was in Volksworld in the late 1990's - '98ish I think?

It's very similar to my brother's '67! I personally like the pop-outs and one piece windows, but maybe black would look good on the frames. Not sure about the 13's up fr4ont though, at least, not with the BRMs on the back. Maybe a set of Douglas wheels on the back?

but painting the frame? Can you remove the rubber then with out tearing it..

Yeah the 13s i have really grown to like and since i cant find a set of older flat 4 BRMS in Matt black they will stay untill a front pair come up for sale. Grown to like the idea of the sorta gasser setup.
