Thanks guys for the response. Those are some great pics. Sorry for the delay in response. I just got off a 30 hour multi leg plane trip from the Philippines. I put this buggy right up there as one of my favorites.

That's almost exactly what I picture when I think of Manx's.  A little more suspension travel—after all it is a buggy!

The Euro guys are really putting out some nice buggies these days. I have seen several in this style that I really like. This is how I want to do my rims, I am just debating if I want to have the fronts widened or not. Rears are going to be widened to 15x7.

Yeah he is running a wider tire both front and back than I plan to. I just really like the widened smoothie wheels he is using with stock caps. I am thinking a 225/60-15 rear and either a 205/65-15 or 165-15 front.

I prefer 225/70 - 15 in the back. I love high tire.. for a more vintage look!!

My only concern with a tire that large is gearing and if my little engine will push it to high way speeds. Trying to stay close to a 26" tire in the rear. Monkeyboy runs the same rear tire on his buggy and it looks good.

That's my manx with 6" Cal Parts rims (as monkeyboy runs) with wide oval firestone g70-15 in the back and firestone f560 165/80 - 15 in the front.

It's not a real Manx. It's an Autozodiaco, an Italian buggy builder who usually copyed the DAC Deserter. I don't know why but mine is really similar to the Manx..
It's a 71 buggy on 65-67 bug pans.
When I found it last year it was yellow body and the chassy was completly rust. I restored it completly (there is everything on my blog) and I painted the body in candy champagne and apricot metalflake... and I covered it 18 times!!! so boring!!!
the engine is a very strong 1600!!
Unliky I tryed it only one time because now it is at mechanich shop to some settings because I had some problems with the transmission.. I'm dreaming when i'll drive!!
I'm going to bring it home on monday.. I'll take some other pics.

For some reason I thought you were running a lower profile in the rear. I really like the look and stance of chopperdentist's car. Looks like I will go with 225/70s in the rear then. 165-15s in the front. I agree it could sit a little higher. I have been trying to decide if I want to run a stock height front or go with 2" dropped spindles. I am thinking I may try a stock front and remove a few of the leaves which will drop it a little. Should give about 4" - 6" clearance in the front.

I have an adjustable beam in the front completly lowered with stock absorber. so I can rise it when i want.

I'm running a STOCK german beam with the 4 smallest leaves removed and fitted with a pair of "crappy" chrome coil overs, they look cool but you can compress them like stock shocks, I have to jack the car to get them on so mine is in fact slightly higher than stock but it still has loads of "give"  the other KEY ISSUE is tyre pressure - I only run approx 15psi, any higher and you tend to get "understeer" due to the lack of weight up front in a manx,

Low tyre pressures and Soft front suspension thats the key to a nice driving manx - oh yeah I run approx 18psi in the rear Smiley

I had firestone 5.60 bias ply but they didn't fit 6" rims. I found out a pair of radials at the moment but when I can I'd like to chage it with some byas ply.
