OK OK.... here we go Smiley  WHAT A NIGHT!!  Not sure how many cars we had on the cruise, but there were a lot (90-100?).  The weather gave us a break on the rain, but it was cold (50's... freezing here in California Roll Eyes).  The afternoon began with a short club meeting at Nick's where we welcomed Casey into DKP Cool.  Then, everything moved across the street to the big parking lot and before long, the place was packed with decorated VW's and drivers.  We took off at 5:00 sharp by which time it was dark and headed north to La Habra then east to Brea.  The route took us into a residential area of very nice homes that were decorated to the hilt.  Some of those folks are going to have some HUGE electricity bills next month Sad!!  Sharon and I took at over 120 pics but night photography is not our gig... driving past Christmas lights in the dark was nothing but a blur Sad.  At any rate we had a great time, it was nice seeing the large turnout and thanks to all who participated! Cool Cool Cool Grin

Had a great time, my buddies Richard Mitchell and Dave Rosique co-piloted. Was that "Puente" or "Pointe"? Everybody (except for the rent a cop in parking lot across from Nicks  Roll Eyes seemed to be living it up in Christmas cheer!
Nice seeing everyone, and thanks to everybody that helped me out with the Card Drive for the little ones. Very very cool. Good work by all in DKP for organizing a great cause, congratulations to Casey (voted in last night), and again, thanks to all that participated. Just got a few drops of rain as I rolled over Santa Susanna Pass, just east of Simi last night, so we basically missed it.
yeah, Rick, those caps are about as cool as can be, thank you!  Cool

Merry Christmas,

Jim R.

It was a fantastic outing with huge turnout. Rick, those stack covers are awesome thanks. I too had my wife Kellie as copilot and she had the camera. Here are the ones that are anywhere near decent, the night shots came out not so well.

What a great time! Thank you to everyone that showed up in spite of the foul weather reports. As always, the VW community was overly generous with the toy drive. I was able to relax and enjoy once I saw that most made it to the first checkpoint, we were pretty spread out there in the beginning! Being dark certainly made it a bit more challenging!  Sarge, as always, thanks for the great pictures! I need copies of the grandkids when you get a chance, they had a great time telling grandpa to keep up with other bugs!

Congrats also to Scott and Casey, and a big thank you to Rick for the DKP covers!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks Dustin...

I hope that everybody that attended last night had a good time. I had the honor of being the lead car for the cruise, and all I could see in my rear view mirror was VW's. Thank you to everyone who attended. We had a nice pile of toys for the kiddies.

Rick, the carb covers are "bitchen" Thank you!!
