Here's a fresh one for Sarge and the older guys...

Deano, I recall a similar car called "Quake". Both named after breakfast cereals, side by side at a Bug-In. While on the subject, wasn't there a two day
Bug-In?
Yes Phil there was a two day Bug In. I went bothe days. Don't remember the year but a lot of cars ran Saturday and couldn't make the Sunday show.  It was only one Bug in.  Sorry don't remember the year.   Dave Rhoads
dave it was bug in 9  sept 30th & oct 1st

I was there too, but I can't imagine how Kimball let that flyer/poster get out reading "3000 litre".  I would think that should be 3 liter or a field of very large motors? Smiley

The "Quake" car may have been a bracket racer with a quickie lettering job, along the lines of the "High Plains Shifter"  Grin  Which may have been
driven by one of the "baby Berg's"  Grin Grin Grin

Of course I have been know to be wrong on occasion.

Awesome thread fellas.... Been coming back to this for sometime.... Thought I might as well contribute....

So here's some more Aussie gassers from the early years... You have some pics of Yoyo, Houndog and PK's car.... But here is a few more...

An early version of Pete Keegan's car....

And the engine from it....

A latter version with the first gen choptop....

And how it looked in the Camel Filters livery....

Enjoy...

The car is from Germany, as far as I know it was driven by Gisela Krux. Here's another shot from 1973, stolen at www.dragracinghistory.de

No the body in the photo was junked, and they made a new one and replaced the broken pipe that caused the wreck, after that  the car  ran mid 10s with ease, I owe nd the Bee in 1986 thur 1988,and i ran 11.10 with an 1835cc  then had to sell it ,now i was able to get it back and give it the restoration it deserves

Great work on your restoration.  It is nice to see some of the early east US drag bugs get restored. Very nice work. Will you be going back to the original paint scheme of the original Buzzin Bee too?
