The third car in this picture was my first Drag Car, it had an 1835cc and ran 11:70s!
Nice ! Got more pics ? I have lots of old pictures, one of these days I will have my daughter post them because I can't seem to.

Deano isn't this car from the mid 60s when Gene had Gene's Service in WA state?

The lettering on the roof says "Gene's Service" and they are Washington license plates. It seems like this photo was pre-1972. Unless he kept the same car untouched until that time ?

Mike and Richard, yes, I think it does date earlier than '72. I do know that photo was taken at Pomona, and it was with some other photos of the Lowry kids (Dean's). Probably closer to late '60s...

Maybe Gene brought that car down from WA when he went to Socal to work with DDS and before he started his own business and had the famous Berg cars we all know about.

I found the location for the photoshoot for 'Made in Italy' by using Google Earth. I've never been to Rome, but I heard it was hard to find and open location. I did a search on Google Earth and looked around until I found somewhere open - it looked like an old air strip. So I told our photographer Paul about this location he went found out it was owned by the Italian Air Force and then he and the owner Papi Aurellio went and got permission to do the shoot. We were originally looking at shooting the car in Rome outside the Colosseum, but felt a drag racer needed to be on an open two lane blacktop. It'd be good to get permission to hold a drag day there!
So - thank you Google Earth!
