And Your Crank-Flywheel is Finish ,
See you on Sandowpark :)

Thanks Mag!

Yeah, see you and the guys at the VolksWorld show.  :)

Fastbrit:
My only observations are:
i) Welded stroker crank + stock-style rods + 9.5:1 + nitrous is not a great combination. I'd rather forget the nitrous at this stage and invest the money in better a bottom/stronger end.
ii) Gear ratios too low for a nitrous motor – especially 4th gear (I'd like to see 3rd a little higher, too)
iii) Case need shuffle-pins if you plan on turning it at high rpm – with the current gear ratios, it WILL be!
 :)

Thanks Keith,

Just the kind of feedback I`m looking for even though it may sound like I`m heading in the wrong direction :-X

i) Jupp - old, velded Sune crank and Porsche rods + even a higher CR and a slightly bigger NOS shot is planed this year. Better keep my fingers crossed when I hit the fun button..
ii) Yes I agree, they are low and I know that supercharged engines likes higher ratios. It would be very borring running out of oumph after 300 meters.
iii) Ups.. interesting. May I ask why you feel that my case needs to be shuffled pinned? My car will not see 8000+ rpms that often. I have changed bearings every winter since I bought the engine and the case bearing surfaces also looks ok. I have also balanced the crank, flywheel and clutch up to 10 000 rpms after each season.

This is what Mark Herbert says about shuffle pinning;

"Shuffle pinning is supposed to keep things from "shuffling" and wearing at the case parting surface. It doesn`t work. VW cases wear because of crank flex. The bigger the crank and the higher the rpms the more this area will wear, whether you have shuffle pins or not. also the center main bearing gets worn also. if you can keep your motor below 6000 most of the time with a big stroker crank you will see much less wear than a motor that sees lots of revs all the time"

I`m not trying to set two statements up against each other! I just want peoples opinion on the matter and why.

Best rgs

nice pics. that msd got there way fast, thats great.
i am not a fan of shuffle pins. almost every engine i have taken part that has been shuffle pinned has had a cracked center main.
i personally dont shuffle pin my engines, yes even th enitrous one.
