got a bit done today used some of my old conduit bending skills to start making the shift rods i had to cut the tunnel to get to the shift rods but i will renforce that once done. seat in moved the stage brake on to the tunnel front mount tacked in its all looking a bit shiney in here lol cheers andy

small bit done had a change of plan on the aluminuim tude when i connected it all up i thought there was too much flex init so ive used 5/8 cromo tube ( as matt said too in the first place lol) fingers crossed that will be better i had to make some bosses them made the rear gearbox mounts im still not sure if i will also secure the top of the box cant decide if i may need to or not ? cheers andy

Amazing job, but I do believe you would get better results with straight shift rods. And without the guides you have on them, I think you will get bending there as the shifter moves in slight arcs. Anyway keep the pictures coming!

Anyway keep the pictures coming! I agree but the way the shifter and box are I can't Bit more done I've removed the rose joints and made some acetal bearings My next issue is I wanted to get rid of as many bends as possible as the shifter and rods are on opposite sides of the car so I've started making a tri-axle bearing ( if that's the right word) that will have a sort lever on each end. That will mount in side the tunnel to keep the rods straight Long way to go with this part yet let's just hope it works  Cheers andy

hi Andy, i can see you've done loads of work trying to get the shift rods in place and functional, but due to placement of the shifter and box there is no straight run to connect the two, have you thought of using universal shift cables? good luck

Awesome!
Cheers dude Little bit more done the cable shift rods have taken a lot of thinking about mainly getting the support inside the tunnel but I think I have cracked that just got to make the production model now I have done the prototype, had to tidy out the workshop and replace a few bushes and cv boot my 4mo that hasn't moved for a year bit that nearly done only got the steering position sensor to change and in for the MOT so I can use her again Workshop tidy Started on the top gearbox mount I have an idea for this but I'm going to leave it fluid and see what happens Cheers andy

So as I'm waiting for a few parts to continue, thought I would make a start on its transport Found the on eBay prototype body that the car will JUST fit in Wheel arches will be coming out So on with the chassis 6 lengths of 75 x 75mm box section Transit rear axles need widening I'm also going to put them on air so hopefully I will be able to sit the trailer nearly on the floor I'm going to remove these and get them re-drilled to adifferent pcd maybe 5x130 on put some Porsche wheels on there Cheers andy

I can't find anything that says I can't we get away with a lot in the UK with cars, if the trailer is over 750kg it must be braked and have the correct sized hitch and have working lights and be road worthy correct tyres etc. I've got to try and keep the weight down as I will towing it with this that comes in at 6.25 tonnes I can go to a total train weight of 8.25 tonnes on my car license if I go over a have to take a HGV test Cheers andy
