I have posted this in detail on the Swedish circle track forum rejsa.nu but I guess it can be fun to share it here too.
My previous engine for the car was sold to Netherlands in order to finance purchase of a Pontiac GTO. A car I have had a lot of fun with and do love.
Now an ACVW standing without heart in my garage hurts.

Malmö Dragway
Third round out ever and I clicked 8,65. That is just fine for my circle track and street car. Four comfortable bucket seats and real 10/100km mileage on highway.

Here is Knutstorp three last years mixed pictures. By the way, the CF hood is being painted red this winter.
No more watercooled stuff after this posting.

Some of those pictures are with my 18 year old daughter driving.

Love my engine....just the looks of it. He he. Let see if she will do the 100hp/liter goal or not.
The Turbo Thomas exhaust with my Inconel collector.
Lee Arnold fan even if it will steal a bit of HP.
Same with the Jaycee Weber screens. I have fullsize K&N but I might sacrifize a few HP with these. Back to back will tell.

New gen Photobucket....yeah, pictures come out crazy.
I have to find out how to downsize them.

Measured my second set of QSC nicasils cylinders.
Not good. Something was strange.
I made my own templates and centered them with double dubs...still not true.
Left them with my specialist who came up with same result.
So now they are at a second specilist who is manufacturer of famoius Swedish Folan engines.
He sets them up with an expandable center insert, then he machines them true as of the center of the cylinder bore.

First QSC set was really nice, runs nice and all that stuff, but I guess this is the name of the game when you go cheaper on parts.

Gday Frallan.

My daughter also has one of those cars you call a Pontiac, although hers is the local Holden SS 6.3L version. Those things go hard all stock, nothing like the old '70s or '80s V8s, they just lift their skirts and GO.
When she heard I was going to build another VW, she stopped trash-talking about lining up against my TT Supra.........when she was little she still remembers being in my last ACVW hotrod!  Cheesy The little VWs scare her more than the Supra.
I kept trying to tell her this one will be small and slow, just a cruiser, but she doesn't believe me.

Hope you enjoy both of them.

Impressive stuff again Torben!
How 'wild' will the cam be? That will determine a lot if 100hp/ltr can be met I think, although displacement is not very big and heads are, so your looking good to getting there I think  Wink

You have done it again "Willy"........sorry, Wally,

It is a JPM cam.

I have learned by both own and many others optimimism that it takes some tweaking to find the right combination before a goal is achieved.
So I am conservatively positive. Let see.

Cool!  Yeah, just build a small and cruiser one.  My real goal is to to go to the track with the beetle and the GTO (I love that car too) at the same time. Beetle must be quicker. Not marginally but like a a lot faster than the GTO.

Person-nally (pun intended) I think those cam specs are exactly whats needed with those heads on a 'street-race motor'.
Very curieus if the dyno agrees lateron. Keep us informed!

Very nice bits!  I like the looks of the car.  Does Lee Arnold make a T1 version of the horizontal fan kit?  Very much resembles the Reichert unit.

Hi Kafercup,
First of all thanks for the words.
No I do not think he does T1, but feel free to write to him and ask.

Not yet. I am like on the other side of the world as to my engine, most part of the time anyway.
In July....at least get it running, then we see if it will include the dyno time.

So now this engine is progressing too.
New Thorsten Pieper inserts and T1 tool lifters are added as Johhanes recommended strongly T1 lifters.
The composite one goes in to the turbo engine with mild cam.

Thanks Thorsten Pieper!
Minimal machine work, heat it to 80+C and then insert the bushings.
Now ready for assembly.

Nope, that blow torch did not do it. BUT the large gas BBQ did.
Promise not to tell my wife. She will kill me.

Nice!

Was looking at the cam again: did you intentionally order a cam with a small base circle?

26 mm is probbaly smaller than many but not 1" which I ordered once.
So your eyesight over internet is 0.6 mm off.  :-)

Frallan,

Can I ask you where you got the dual thrust cam bearing?
I somehow never can find them anywhere.

Hello Eddie,
That is as far as I know just a standard bearing.
I know some people do double bearing halves but only by purchasing double sets.

For Type4 engines you need two sets , or + one set WBX and you have one more :-)  WBX has 2 thrust bearings in the set
