Here is the entire shot (less the area above the fence line), so you can get an idea of who and what was there.

Thanks Dean, that picture is awesome!

I agree, thanks Dean!

We just spotted Bill Clarkson walking towards the back, on the left hand side (STP jacket).

Same photo from  the Bug-In 3 staging lanes.... only cropped to the right. Here we see Mike Mahaffey's (then) brown Split, and you can barely spot Mike on the far edge of the photo....
What about the black 67 w sprintstars, It looks like the one Dee drove around in Orange for years

No, it may be Dee's street car. She had a black 67 sunroof that she drove everyday, you did'nt want to pull up next to it at a stoplight , know what I mean ?

my ex-boss Jerry up @ BH, his dad Stanley drove around in a very sedate looking 68- later Bug. Nobody really knew it had the sister turbo motor to the salt-flat KG under the lid. He had some amusing stories about that car.

So the tall man got the smaller man to drive the Fiat. Bummer the short folk get all the fun
Big man having fun at 10 mph, no doubt the racetrack wouldn't allow this.

Agreed on all points, except one. I beg to differ... that IS Cal Look. Do you not remember getting pulled over numerous times with Cal Look VWs back in the old days? Therefore, it IS Cal Look.

 Grin

But I'll allow you still disagree if you must.

Cool pic, looks like it is the "outside" Nurburgring pits (ie not the one next to the starting/finish line...)

Cool VW bus as well, I wonder how many the Porsche factory had and where they are today... Huh

That looks more like a car with one of those awful 'Cal Custom' stick-on pinstriping kits, than a GTV! Cheesy

Midas Muffler from Seal Beach P.D. who already had a bus pulled over ..!! ..He jumped out in the street to stop me ..!
