Mark I think your '67 would deserve a complete and detailled photoshoot so we could all appreciate the little details and subtle works you've done on it. (Or I should fly to Cali to see it in person ) Complete and detailed photo shoot is RIGHT... You are SO modest Mark. I might even buy THAT magazine. Even more so, ol' Nico needs to get his Euro a$$ over here and take a few pics himself. I have an extra room for you Bro! Great stuff. Unlike my car, DKKFreds car looks good both day AND night time. Mine is a sweetie at 65 mph and 9pm... oh yeah I said it. You know what i like best about Marks car..... apart from the fact its clean, simple and cool..... the black groments in the US spec bumper holes, so correct and so cal look exactly what they did in the day "left them", its the details that make it right and Yes I would like to see a feature of this car too, if not send it to Scotland and Ill take my own photos....

I agree with Ted. On top of that the Brian Plummer/Gabbard 67 is one of the finest ever. And I don't recall seeing a pic of the amazing black 67 owned by Roger Crawford. Its really an amazing car. Here's a pic from 3 years ago at one of those ol' DKK picnics. There HAS to be more pics of it. 11 or 12 second street car black on BRM's you dont see....every....day.

Regarding the U.S. bumper over-rider grommets... we actually would go out of our way to fill those in. I built my first Cal Look VW in '79 and did just that. It was a U.S. Lotus White '66 with a brown interior. First thing, was to get alloy t-bars and fill in those holes. I wanted to keep this car all stock, so I left everything on it intact. Plus, it's cheaper that way and I'm on a shoestring budget.
Thanks for the kind words... she's just a super low cost car that I can have fun with on the weekends. Nothing fancy, but I like it.

Here was my favorite 67. It is the car I built in 1994 and we painted it (VW Color) Bold Carribean Teal. Had a 2110cc motor I built...Dean Lowry heads, Pauter Cam and I drove it anywhere. I was fortunate to have it appear on the Feb 96 issue of Hot VWs...(Cal Look Issue).
Still alive and well today...unfortunately in another person's garage. However....I have located a new 67.....Hmmmmm

Dominick Luppino's son's car, as all the shots you posted, are clearly great looking representations of the Cal Look. Dominick must be very proud!

Really nice NoBars! A bit more race than most due to the stance and the wheels.
