Moving on with tidying the wiring, I wanted to hide the bit of wiring visible inside the footwell. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

When replacing the mechanical fuel gauge with an electrical one the original sender cover no longer fits the new electrical sender. I modified the cover making it deeper to fit and not interfere with the wire and also made a small tripod to mount it to.A narrow tube was bent up that would hide the tank wire and secured in place with a tab that was held by one of the tank bolts. Next we decided to delete the heater vents. Not only because it will look cool, but also as i was going to run the wiring loom in the roof and down the windscreen A-posts. I had already tried to run the wires with the heater tubes in place and got the wires jammed between the heater tube and the screen post and destroyed the wires getting them back out. So if the heater tubes were going to go, it made sense to lose the vents at the same time and smooth out the dash top completely [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] This would have been so much easier if i had done it before the roll cage was fitted Cry [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The final dash mod was to delete the radio hole. We cut out a bit larger so we could lose any distortion from the original radio hole stamping. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Wasnt the easiest panel to clamp into place [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Time to take a break from the body and show the seat frames some love [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] I cut the rear bar off and welded in two lengths of tube. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] Then added some more tubes on top and bent up some tubes for the rear.Plus some mounting plates for the seats [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Just saw these pictures and after admiring the beautifull work I wondered how you made this panel?Did you use a panelbrake and then a shrinker?I have to make the same repairs due to bad seals and was wondering how you made these.

hi Eddie. It was just a rattle an primer from my local motor factors. I think the brand was Hycote which you can also get from euro car parts. It was just used to keep any rust away until it was painted properly,where most of the red was removed

Hi Arnoud. Yes I used a metal folder that I made myself and a Shriner/stretcher. These two tools were so handy in most of the panels that we fabricated.

I'm not going to share this build thread with the kids at school just yet. They're building a '71 1200 Cal Looker but I think I'll wait til it's solid before I go mad on details!
