We had a nice break in the weather today and it warmed/dried up enough for me to throw open the garage doors and do some tinkering on the car.  I have been kicking around dragging the Americans down from the attic for a while now and today was as good a time as any.  With all the grief I get about it beeing a race car now, I figured the change would do my image good  Grin

Its been at least four years since these wheels have been on.  Kinda nice for a change  Smiley

Both your cars look inspiring. That bug with those wheels are among my favorite five bugs of today.
But cleaning up the engine compartment is taking the cal-look a bit far  Wink

'67 looks awesome Dave, no matter which wheels, but I think the AR mags are the best.
Love the sport muffler on the S too.

Cool pictures,

Hey thanks guys.  Taking last season off was good for me.  This year I am focusing on putting more street miles on the car and getting her dialed in really well.

That incident Richard is talking about was a pretty funny story.  It was Dean Kirsten and I driving from a pre-show party in Michigan back to the hotel and I had full slicks on the car.  It was about 10:00 at night and completely dark on the expressway.  Richard was following since he didnt know how to get to the hotel.
After a few minutes, I noticed traffic clogged up behind me.  Richard was sitting in the fast lane blocking traffic instead of driving behind me.  I noticed that cars would come up behind me and then slow up and drop waaaay back.  Me and Dean are looking at each other like  Huh Huh Huh
Turns out that the expressway had a lot of loose gravel on it (typical Michigan road) and those slicks were picking the stones up and shotgunning the cars behind us.  Richard refused to drive behind in his brand new car and he couldnt pass me.  Grin

At one point some idiot in a Corvette passed us on the right hand shoulder of the road....pretty freaky!

Between the recapps and slicks, its been ten years since this car has had radials on it.  Cool

No need to be a member, you just need to pass a few criteria. http://www.vwdvkk.com/100mph/100mph.html

The website is in the process of a rebuild, but the info is current.
